They are also current' restoring my old '99 S Class Benz that's been in storage for over 10 years, Here is an example of a new one that just opened up in the suburbs of Chicago and the owners are ex BMW and Mercedes Master Techs. I suggest doing some research and ditching the dealer for service out of warranty coverage. Dealers make more money on service than they do selling cars so techs are leaving and starting their own businesses to cash in on this opportunity.

last I checked they were higher priced than AMS in West Chicago ... I need brakes in a few months

Pepboys also has a $40 rebate on their Champion battery so it's more like $135 after rebate.

Yeah I got one last month with rebate too. It's the same width and height, but about 1.5" longer than the original but still fits fine.

Yes I actually know. Because oddly enough I swapped them just less than a month ago. Paid $66.00 at their parts counter, crazy for a pair of wipers if you ask me, but whatever. They are still perfect of course, so I have no idea why they even wound up on that list.

E63 AMG S Wagon
New to Mercedes and new to CPO cars in general, so apologies if this is a dumb question, but coming off the back of these crazy costs from Merc dealers - do I have to have these items replaced by them if my car is CPO? Sounds like kind of a murky area from what I've seen, curious what this forums experience is.

Just for clarity it should be noted that just because something is not spelled out in the invoice/work order or summary of actions taken, does not mean that it was not done. If any dealership performs alignment on a distronic car and neglects the distronic calibration check, they are not doing their jobs. Period.

The picture of the invoice was to prove that i recently had an alignment and not pulling info out of my ***. No one said that it should state every single step the dealer takes.

Although I quoted you, I wasnt suggesting that you didnt understand this. My post was more to make sure others did not think calibrating the distronic is not necessary during alignment based on your post and other posts from different guys in this thread.

I don’t believe I even hinted that you “pulled anything out anything out of your *ss”. Furthermore, I didnt suggest in any manner that these work orders should state everything performed. I simply stated for those unaware that they do not. Whether they should or not is a different conversation.

Seems like you took something I wrote personally or in a negative light that I assure you was not the case.

Most guys on this site know I always try to be constructive. Not confrontational.

Cheers
