M157 Performance Engine Mounts

Hi

Is there any alternatives to the OEM engine mounts on the M157 engine? The stock parts do not last long on tuned cars.

Thanks

joonesthesia 05-24-2019 09:33 AM

can confirm. the stock ones on mine lasted 30kkm. I just stuck with the oem's thinking pay to play.

Maybe look into getting the black series mounts

Ed99 05-26-2019 01:42 PM

How do you know when they are going out and need replacement?

PeterUbers 05-26-2019 04:59 PM

You can have fluid leaking from them onto the garage floor or you'll have rough idle and vibes through the steering wheel etc

Magno 05-26-2019 05:38 PM

These are the only aftermarket ones I’m aware of and look impressive with very good reviews. $465 shipped. They said you will get slightly more vibration at idle but improve performance otherwise and should last much much longer

They just told me $600 shipped for either the street or race version.

Magno 05-27-2019 05:44 PM

I contacted them Saturday via Instagram and they said $465. They are $465 in various posts for various applications as well. The trans mount is an additional $175, maybe they were quoting that as well?

For the w212 awd e63, he specifically noted $600 shipped for street or performance and no trans mount available yet. That was today on Instagram via dm. Not sure why we are getting two different prices, but that's what they told me.

PeterUbers 05-27-2019 11:12 PM

I would much rather have a smoother idle and pay money again to replace them

Magno 05-28-2019 09:02 AM

I contacted ECE and the discrepancy is between the w212 RWD and AWD versions. My car is RWD and the mounts are $465 shipped. The 2014-2016 AWD mounts are different and $600 shipped.

Reviving this, looks like ECE no longer makes these. I see VRP has a billet set for sale but could find no reviews, and then I also found these on Ebay but the guy's listing pictures are on his kitchen counter which seems really sketchy...

Since most threads are a couple years old, maybe some of you guys who have tried non-OEM mounts can chime in on longevity? I wish we could get the Black series ones for these cars.

Ece sold their design to boosted benz, who carries them now.

Thanks! I had looked on the Blackboost site and didn't see them, but found them on the other site. Pricey, but less than 2 sets of OEM and I would imagine they would last a lot longer than two sets.

That's because they are not made by Blackboost. They are made by/for Boosted Benz exclusively. Like I said, they bought the design from ECE.

Boosted Benz is the US BlackBoost distributor, but they offer other products in addition to BlackBoost - the engine mounts being one of them. @boostedbenz.com can get you set up - they are great mounts.

Hello. As mentioned BoostedBenz.com offers the purchased design of ECE engine mounts for the M157 AWD. We have added additional heat resistant protection from the original design. We are currently running a holiday special a set of Engine Mounts for $750 with free heat shields. Please refer to the picture. Please let me know if there are any questions.

Are there different options for inserts?

Durometer rating of the inserts (if applicable, i.e plastic). Rubber inserts?

.Thanks for offering this as an upgrade.

Hello. Great question. We cannot give too much information on the insert, however, we only offer one version (Street Version) and it is a made from a different compound then what ECE used. The inserts can be purchased for Boosted Benz engine mounts as well as previously purchased ECE mounts. Thank you for your interest.

thesaintusa 12-07-2022 07:26 PM

I understand.

Just trying to get a sense of how stiff they will be based on the Durometer rating of my other vehicles aftermarket mounts (that I know the stiffness).

i.e. stiff or stiffer etc.

That's one sexy looking piece of hardware.

Great to know! That was my next question as I know ECE had the blue and black options, being 'Street' I'm guessing these are close to the old blue which is great.

Is there any difference in height to the OE mounts? I only ask because I'm going to try and do these in-car dropping (but not removing) the subframe and I know it's a real squeeze w/ new OE mounts. Thanks!

I have the ECE mounts and the shop installed them in the manner you stated - lowering the subframe without fully removing it.

I.T. Guy 12-08-2022 01:52 PM

Is there more clearance with these mounts for turbo-backs?

brfatal 12-08-2022 03:48 PM

Consider the head shielding mandatory with the ex-ECE mounts. Part of the reason ECE halted production was because they were melting.

Gin's Ebay link is to AXE mounts. They started making engine and trans mounts last year. These are produced locally by an acquaintance of mine.
