2014 E63 Dyno Results

I had my car on the dyno at Eurocharged in Toronto last week and I figured I would share the results. My car is 2014 E63 with about 59k km on it. I had their stage 2 tune done late last year when they were offering it for the price of the Stage 1 tune. Also had the supporting mods of 2 step colder plugs + filter and primary cat delete done. I didn't get a chance until now to dyno the car and the results were a bit surprising. I obviously don't have baseline numbers to compare to so no way to know my exact gains. Anyway here are my 2nd and 3rd runs on with 94 octane gas.
2nd Run 610whp / 630wtq:

3rd Run 620whp / 626 wtq:

As it was explained to me, the power kept going up with each run because I simply don't drive the car hard enough and the engine was adjusting with each run (first run was like 590whp). I'm more than happy with how the car feels and drives compared to stock and the wheel hp figure is pretty good as well. The wheel torque is a bit lower than I expected for a stage 2 though. The torque curve is nice and flat so I don't feel all that dissapointed, especially since the car pulls strong and smooth to the redline. Since this is my daily driver, I'm not sure I want to have EC update the tune even though I feel that the supporting mods I did were unnecessary at this power level.

Very Niceeeeeeee!!!

Lets put it on track and get some real 1/4 mile timing!!! :)

Exactly.

Good #'s.. What psi is their stage 2?

Unless Iron Sheik is talking out of his wazoo, you're putting down his stage 1 horsepower and you're really down on torque. Something doesn't seem right for a stage 2 tune

Without seeing or knowing the boost, EC might have capped his tq, but also we dont have a baseline stock dyno for the OP to compare.

I doubt they did unless he asked, and I doubt this is a tuning issue (or at least feel it's very premature to think that direction)

While the actual numbers will vary from dyno to dyno, it's been well documented that the tq curve should be higher relative to the hp curve with this tune. Boost would be helpful, as would afr.

LOL I have no reason to do that! :D

Car did go 11.2 @ 127.xx :naughty:

Best thing you can do is take it to the track to see what it will run! Dyno numbers mean d***!!

The torque looks almost like he didn’t go full throttle in the early revs. It should spike much higher when full boost hits and then start to fall. That almost looks like a supercharger tq curve. Or...stock with higher numbers. Boost is obviously there as the hp numbers are strong.

Maybe slippage on the rollers when full boost hits?

I agree, the results are much closer to a stage 1 tune than a stage 2 tune. This is why I was a bit disappointed that I did all of the other mods required for stage 2. Although the car does sound great with out the primary cats.

I guess I should have mentioned that I did talk to Vlad at EC when we did the dyno and he did mention that he kept the torque low for reliability reasons (once again this being my daily driver). Apparently with the tuned, high torque cars, there is potential for issues long term with the axles bending. Has encountered this? He did mention if I want the torque bumped up they can do it. The other thing he showed me were some dyno results with the cars hitting the high torque numbers, there is a very sharp drop off in power at the top of the rev range.

I believe they said it should hit around 19 psi with stage 2 at the time I got the tune done. I haven't bothered to check it with the Torque app. I will get around to it at some point.

Thanks everyone for the input. Next time I'm at EC I will ask them why my results are worse than some of the stage 1 numbers.

If it slipped I would expect to see some dips and spikes in the graph no?

Lol!! It's all about the track -- I had a dyno tune by Jake at ams ... great to have them local; I'll track it this June and report back my 1/4 mile etc

Didn't think you were:naughty:

In all serious, you would be an excellent reference as to how the car should behave on the dyno taking numbers out of the equation. Identical (or close to it) setups, same tuner, and same geography (vicinity toronto). Any chance you could post, or at least PM him, your dyno as a reference?

If the car was behaving as it should on the dyno, then yes I fully agree he should take it to the track if this was just a matter of concern over the numbers.

I can think of a few things ranging from dyno testing error to actual mechanical issues. Before you go back to EC, it may be worth ruling out if there are any stored codes popping up that could be limiting your power, that you're not having intercooler pump issues, boost leak(s), etc.... before having that discussion.

I really had to dig up this piece of paper I had laying around since November! Hopefully you guys can read the numbers.
This is stage 1 CATTED!!! The 2nd run made more power as my cats were clogged up because of the "burble" feature.
Whoever is out there thinking of getting the burble feature while having your cats on, please DO NOT!!!!!! It f's up your cats!!! And it's stupid loud!

Trying to put things into perspective compared to Stage 2! The OP's dyno seems to hold power better in the higher rpm's! Don't always look at Peak numbers!
