All four red calipers clear coat peeling...Mercedes won’t warranty!

All 4 calipers have started peeling on my 2014 E63S and Mercedes customer care denied the claim. Only 42k miles and barely 8 months into my CPO worthless warranty.

For those of you with red calipers still under original warranty you better check them now/regularly before it happens to you.

I was just in for service B and one of my rear calipers are peeling. Still under factory warranty and they denied my claim.
Called another dealer in the area the service advisor said it should not be an issue getting it warrantied but needs service manager to look at it.

Maybe try a different MB dealer?

It does seem dealer dependent but it seems the OP opened a case with Mbusa?

Denied by the area/regional manager after opening a case with customer service. They say paint is not covered under CPO.

The CPO list says vehicle paint and trim is excluded from CPO, but calipers are covered. My interpretation is that calipers are covered (period) and vehicle paint is referring to the cars paint job.

According to “customer care” the area manager has the last word. I can’t just go to another dealer since they all have the same area manager

$110,000 car, 42k miles and not even 5 years old yet.....

I would call Mbusa then ... and discuss with them and open a case with the bbb against Mbusa; also write a respectfully worded letter to the Mbusa ceo and Mail is us snail mail. You would be surprised what you can still accomplish by mail.

the cost of the car has nothing to do with caliper paint peeling. There's no special paint they use because the car is that expensive new. It's a Brembo caliper with a defect in the paint

i feel your pain, I fought benz twice and won

I did call Mbusa. They denied it after waiting about a week while they reviewed everything. Just decided it’s not covered under CPO warranty and no good will, no exception, nothing. Just that all paint is excluded.

They also denied my wife’s 2013 c250 mars red paint car that all of the clear coat is falling off. A known TSB problem with multiple lawsuits pending.

Interesting, red paint and red calipers all having similar problems and Mbusa gives me the finger....

MB Canada denied my claim for the same under my factory warranty, however, eventually replaced the calipers on a goodwill basis.

Mine was also denied and car was still under B2B warranty. BS warranty for sure!

I would seriously think about filing a small claims case against MBUSA if there isn’t a specific exclusion for paint and calipers are covered..it’s a fairly easy thing to do,

or or just get some high temp paint and touch it up.
