Maintenance required - ?

HI, brought my E63 in to the dealer to get cracked coolant reservoir replaced. During the visit, they suggest some service that is recommended for my vehicle given the age/ and or mileage.

Prices below in Cdn.
Should I do this? Should I have the dealer do this , since it’s “AMG” , or is Indy ok.

Feedback greatly appreciated.

2016 -E63 Sedan- 54000KM.

- Spark plugs [570.00] - Transmission oil change [350.00] - Differential oil change [250.00] - And a few air filter of some sort [ 150.00]

Plugs seem a little high but not bad prices on the rest.

Trans and filter at the dlr

Get the diff fluid and your next oil change have your local shop drop the fluid plugs and filters.
Filters and plugs would be a nice DIY. Cabin filter also.
How how come they did not hit you up for rotors and pads. They love that suggestion.
If you are planning on tuning make sure to get the correct plugs for the tune/

No DIY stuff for me , no time .... and no knowledge.
I just like drivng the beast , not working on it.

Do i need the work done, based on age and Mileage?

Filters, diff and trans fluid are probably advisable to do. For me, I left my plugs until I got a misfire (which was about 70,000 km).

Scheduled Maintenance for the 2016 E63 Transmission 60,000KM or 4 years & 75,000KM or 5 years for plugs.

A typical answer is to refer to the official Canada market MY16 Service Booklet, where owners can track both required and optional service actions. In addition to your periodic (annual) Service A or Service B on pp.12-15, one can review maintenance work beginning on p.18. For example, from your listing of quoted maintenance:
.
  • Service 8
    • Every 45,000 km/3 years: Engine air-filter element
    • Every 60,000 km/4 years: Rear axle differential fluid AMG with self-locking diff (code 471)
  • Service 12
    • Every 100,000 km/5 years: Spark plugs
  • Service 20
    • Once at 60,000 km/4 years: Auto transmission oil and filter
Unless you have a reason to believe that your vehicle sustained excessive wear, like racing/tune, you do not need to preemptively replace things. You can safely follow the booklet.

There is a point of kilometrage vs. time. Spark plugs, for example, do not lose properties over time, only from use. Therefore, do not worry about years, go by km. However, fluids deteriorate over time (detergents break down, system contamination, moisture), and so you do not want to keep them longer than stated despite kilometrage.

The service booklet is your friend. Use it. Hope this helps.
