E63S --> RS7?

So I realize I'm asking this on a MB forum, but here's my question:

I have a 2018 E63s (38k km) for which the lease is coming due in 4 months. I have been looking at RS7s and found out my lease buy out on the E right now is 82K.

2018 E63s look like they're on the market for 95-105k so I've got some equity in it.

2017 RS7s I'm seeing in the 90-100 range.

My E has been nothing but awesome, so I have no complaints. Part of me was just wanting to try something different, but comparable, but I've not driven one yet.

Thoughts? Buy out and keep my E? Or jump into an RS7? Anyone have any comparable experience?

Thanks

I started dabbling in the RS7 world and learned that Audi's can suffer from a very significant turbo failure that is quite pricey without warning. This effects all of their 4.0tt cars so s6/s7/rs7/s8. Good friend of mine owns a company in NY called RocEuro and he himself is a big time audi ***** and essentially told me to steer clear unless I want to just drop $6-$8k in preventative maintenance for peace of mind. They are obviously very capable cars when working, but I just don't know.

Then you hop over to bmw v8tt cars and those are an absolute nightmare.

I think next up for me is going to be f80 m3 or w213 e63s obviously depending on what sort of income I'm seeing over the next year which can fluctuate quite a bit.

So right now I have both of these cars - just got a 2017 RS7 and I still have my 2018 E63s.

As I originally mentioned the plan was to swap my AMG for the Audi. My E63s has been stock the whole time. My plan with the RS7 was to add a Militek exhaust and tune it (claim is 600whp/700tq).

Now I'm not 100% sure. I know performance-wise once tuned, the Audi will be better than the stock E63s and the exhaust add-on will wake up the very quiet RS7 exhaust, but man, the ENGINE is so quiet! The AMG engine just sounds big and mean when you get on it.

Any further thoughts on these two?

Your reasoning sounds less logical and more emotional; therefore, lean on what gives you more smile and more fuzz (including positive feedback from people you care about).

Why not just spring for the new RS6 Avant? Beautiful car, but quite quiet at the same time. Performance looks rock solid as well. I'm not sure that it is as ***** to the walls as the E63 is, but damn...those 21 inch wheels really set it off.

E63s Wagon
We are fortunate to have an E63 wagon and RS7 parked in the garage, both 2014's, both stock. The RS7 is the wife's everyday car while I drive the wagon regularly.

The RS7 is hands down the better daily driver. Hers has the sport package but with the sport suspension deleted. The air ride suspension is awesome and silky smooth compared to the harsh ride of the wagon. Super nice for an everyday car. The sport exhaust sounds pretty good in the more advanced driving modes. The multiple driving modes noticably alter the characteristics of the car but it never reaches a level of "rawness" that I feel from the E63. The heads up display is really nice (if you are normal height). Shorter people need to raise the seat way up to utilize it. Overall the tech in the Audi is more advanved and you can alter all kinds of setting on the car with a little googling and a VAGCOM tool. Overall I think of her car as a 550hp Accord with better looks, lol. That same imperssion carries through to the interior for me as well. Seat of the pants it seems her car pulls harder topend than the E63 but I mean above 140mph so that's not real relevant. Plus that is just an impression.

A big downside for the RS7 (at least her generation) in my opinion, the adaptive cruise package was NOT available with active lane assist. Pretty dumb on a $100k car.

BUT the E63's sexy and menacing exhaust, the pano roof and the subdued yet classy (some would say outdated) interior get my vote. The harsh ride is forgotten as soon as I tip in the throttle. There is something visceral about the AMG that just makes it more fun to drive. The new RS6 avant is tempting but I'm sticking with the AMG for a bit longer.

I don't think there is a bad choice, I think it is about what makes you smile more when you drive it.
