UPD Intake vs. Black Boost
UPD Mbworld thread shows some dynos with gains but now this black boost kit has showed up but I haven't seen any reports on it from members.
Any guidance would be great!
They appear as questionable ROI to me. The volume is large, but the M157 is a charged engine, and so the volume is less impactful than the path/filter restriction. UPD and VRP spacers + hi-flow filters likely solve that problem equally well. Also, the BlackBoost solution depends on the hood as a top lid coming in contact with the rubber seal. This may suggest to strip the hood liner to expose smooth metal surface for good contact. Lastly and subjectively, they do not really look integrated, but rather DIY for a cool $1,200 to boot. My 2 cents.
I personally decided to use VRP spacers + K&N hi-flow filters primarily due to cost and OEM look. I did install 6 standoffs to make flush with the engine covers.
Best of luck.

Had mine in for a month now. Upd as it may be beneficial is not in the same category as the blackboost intake. Tested, and logged . This intake breaths much much better the factory.

Would anyone's do so, given that your hood fits over the strut bar? Or did you do some modification to the hood to allow the strut bar?
What logging results do you have, specific to the intake?

At his power level, you can see his wastegate was maxing out at the top end, WELL before redline, meaning the wastegates was demanding more boost, but it wasnt getting it, usually indicates the turbos running out of breathe and power, or a restriction somewhere.
BEFORE intakes, wastegate maxing out (PSA: in HP tuners 94.9% is MAX for our wastegates, and 5% is fully open)
After the intake, you can see his wastegate dutycycle of course is still high, but it is NOT maxing out, and is a few % lower than before aswell. This extra head room directly correlates to the higher trap speed he saw aswell, as he has now more top end power, and his wastegate isn't maxing out looking for more air.

Really nice gains.
I was first thinking that it couldn't be, but that dataloggin with 5soko was awesome. There are always been so much buzz on after market (with all car brand market) with expensive intake systems and poor gains if any. Is this measurement black boost vs. upd? Or black boost vs. stock?Nice to see the real world gains on street. What do you think how big is the hp gain in this intake vs. stock intake or vs. ups?

black boost vs stock with k&n filter oil removed for better flow. I went from 10.6 to 10.5 with just this intake. That’s massive imo
This doesn't necessarily mean the black boost setup is a better performer than the UPD setup, but it at least shows the black boost setup has benefits.

K&n drop in
Blackboost intake. I must add my tune is aggressive and my wastegate was maxed out so my gains may be more then the next. But gains you will see regardless
