Holy grail E63 wagon obtained
I have wanted an e63 wagon for a long time and recently sold my 1984 Nissan Skyline so have been on the hunt.
I found this car, convinced the owner to sell and bought it all within 24 hours.
I was daily searching for a white 12-13 E63 Wagon with performance package. There was one listed with 48k miles but the guy was asking $54k which was really high. I finally emailed him and offered him 47k. He said 50 and I said 49k. He said he would sleep on it. Next day, he calls me and says he doesn't want to sell. I was bummed. I had posted on IG that I would pay $350 for anyone who found me a car I bought. I got a DM from a guy who has a 1 of 1 and said he was also looking for a white one and had put together a database of all the known ones. Highlighted the ones he thought I could get. I reached out and all were either sold or not for sale so then I move on to the non highlighted. Google searching the 2nd vin on the list brings up a Lynchburg VA name and phone number only which is only 2 hours from me. Call the guy and say " Hey, you don't know me and this is kind of weird but do you have a white E63 AMG wagon"? Yes, he replies. "Would you consider selling it"? He says yes again but says I don't want this car. I ask why and he says because it has 180k (I am thinking miles) but he says sticker price. I asked him how on earth is that possible and he tells me how he owned a MB dealership and spec'd the car out at the AMG basement in Stuttgart where all the best one off cars are done. Goes down the list and then tells me the interior color. I ask how much and he says he thinks he will list on BAT. I go on to tell him about my past cars and he recognized all of them and says this AMG is the car for me. We agree on a price and I bought it. It's never even been titled before and came with the certificate of origin so I am technically the first owner. Apparently the car is well known in Germany and was in magazines from when it was being built at AMG.
The white wheels have to go. Yes, I am going to mod it but anything I will do will be reversible. I love the fact that it's not metallic white, has yellow calipers and the interior color. All of my favorite things. It's like it was built for me.
P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5 package with custom interior. $173k original sticker price! Currently has 52k miles.
I will take better photos tomorrow when I clean it. I am tired now.

Here is a cell shot of the build sheet. The Designo customization was $48k. My buddy who worked for MB is working on getting me the full build sheet and hopefully the window sticker. I am also including some shots of it being done at the AMG factory.
They took a complete E63 new and sent it to the AMG factory where all the special cars are built and removed everything to put the all new stuff in. He told me all about the process and pointed out some stuff he had never even seen before like the alcantara rear view.
I took some more photos of the car this morning too.

Very nice, but I can't believe after all that that he didn't include parktronic.
You could always get a window sticker by paying $8.

Very nice but he drove 50K miles without registering the car? Glad you are done hunting yours as I am starting my hunt officially today, with this being the first post.

Yeah but he was a dealer so..
What color do you want and what's your budget? I know of a white one with black interior for sale that isn't advertised yet.

If he had driven less than 50k, he might have been able to get the factory warranty and then bought the extended warranty on top of it.

Any issues with either one of them? I definitely want one like yours, fully loaded and well taken care of.
Thanks

I like the front end and rear doors on the 14-16 but I didnt want awd. The 12-13 are rwd. You can facelift swap them though. Its a pita to do downpipes on the awd cars too.

I agree, the 14/16 front has more presence than the earlier version. I am sure I will be looking for 15/16 skipping the 14, the first model year. The white looks so pretty on your car though

Dude, sick. Love the story too about how you went hunting for and found your great white whale.

Expect the springs to settle another 1/4 over the next six months. Also expect to adjust the links a few times over the next six months too, the air system fluctuates a lot of you are **** and constantly checking with a tape measure like I do. Luckily the links take like five minutes to adjust once you get the hang of it.

Yeah, that will be me checking it all the time. When you first install, do you adjust it to be exactly the amount lower than where it sits stock or is the adjustment not 1:1?
#25
Its not 1:1. Id try 1/8 shorter than stock links to start.
My 13 wagon sits 26.25 to the front fender lip and 26.5 to the rear fender lip (most of the time) with 265/35/19 and 305/30/19 tires. Same springs as you.
