B1 Service? Can I do a DIY?
1. oil change $150
2. Spark Plugs $500
3. Belt Install ? $200
4. Cabin FIlter $120
5. Air Filters $150
Total $1120 but hew said he'll do it for $900
What do you guys think? and I got a feeling some of these items are easy DIY tasks and for one I can do my own oil changes and have done so. I think air filters and cabin filters should be easy as well. Spark plugs not so much but I do have a Spark Plug changing kit from Princess Auto that I have never used... maybe its time.. but let me know what you guys think.
You can DL maintenance booklet pdf. Many services are mileage related. Oil changes are a definite at least once a year even if car is not driven (oil brakes down). Air and cabin filters are simple enough DIYs.
I did my plugs recently (115,000 miles) and the job wasn't too bad, although 2 things that made it much easier for me...
1. Have the right spark plug tool... It made the job go by much faster (I actually started doing plugs without it). Hazet looks to be the same as the MB branded one in my opinion.
2. The plug leads are on.... t.i.g.h.t. Buy at least a couple plug leads. I was lucky, the previous owner of my car used dielectric grease so my leads came off easy... YMMV.

I think having the engine warm (maybe even hot) is key. But that makes for a less fun experience. Since I'm still under warranty I went to dealer and overpaid.
