From 550 to 63s
I finally picked up an E63S it's a 2015 with 54k on the clock. What a difference from a '12 550 biturbo. The 550 has both ECU and ECATX TCU tune and downpipes and intake spacers. On a blend of 91 and E85 the thing was a rocket. It also feels much faster on the street vs the 63 does. HOWEVER, on the FWY/Highway the 63 in stock form is a beast and in S or S+ its just a rowdy muscle car with a Mercedes badge on it. I love my 550 but it was just time for an upgrade and I really tried hard to find a wagon that was not overpriced and a '14MY (Prices are stupid high for wagons right now).
I also got a supposed designo color because it looks like steel grey but in some light it has a blueish hue so I'm not sure if that is a characteristic of Steel Grey. I also have a black interior but a designo white headliner. She will get paint correction and ceramic this coming weekend and I can't wait to see how that comes out.
Great thing about both cars is that my downpipes will swap right over as will my carbon mirrors. Let the modding begin! I now have to get in contact with Dave from EC ATX for a tcu tune and will go from there. I know Brutus_TX has a great thread on how to make this a 10sec daily with what mods to install first. Anywho here are some pics of when I got her and cleaned her up a little.

Congrats! That’s awesome that you also noticed the blue hue in certain lighting, thought I was going crazy. I have a ‘14 E63S in Steal Grey, aka Tenorite Grey and in low evening sun the blue and even purple really comes out and the color transforms. Love it!
Took this pic recently and it almost looks more like a shade of blue than grey. 👍🏼

Congrats on the E63, looks great! I too have a Steel Gray/Tenorite Gray E63 (2014) and the color shifting is definitely a part of the color - depending upon the light and even cloudiness, the car will look very dark gray, light gray, almost silver-ish, blue, and even purple-ish.

Congrats on the new to you E63.
Yeah, the wagon market is nuts...I stalked wagons for almost 2 years until I found one I really wanted/would be happy with and pulled the trigger when one came for sale within 30 miles of my house. Usually, they were all 200+ miles away, not the color combo I wanted, or had less than ideal ownership history.
Enjoy the car...I know mine puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

100% worth the money! Night and day difference, in S mode on the 550 on the 550 it will light up all 4 tires on launch and it will scratch on the 2nd gear shift. On the fwy you don't need to drop a gear just leave in S and floor it.

Good lord that is a gorgeous shine! That is pretty much what I'm going to go for. I will keep the stocks for a little while but will be getting wheels later after all the go fast is done. What suspension and what size spacers are you running to make the stocks that flush? I hope my car shines like that after this weekend with my detail guy!
