Late to the game (recently acquired the car), but non the less another success story!. However, it wasnt I that successfully upgrade the software. All the credits went to Trigital. After carefully studied the youtube video and steps listed in the 1st post, I realized this project is beyond my knowledge and capability. While I considered myself handy and like DIY, this project requires manipulate of computer files, changing computer files setting. So I reached out to Trigital for help. Long story short, he took on the project, and spent hours online upgrading my car. Sawing how he changed the setting, manipulated the files... I glad I did not do it myself. If I screw up, it would have been a very expensive and nightmare to fix. Before taking on this project, I already contacted multiple dealers, whom all refused to update the software for my car. One independent shop agreed to take on the shop, but would not guarantee the result since they have no experience doing this. To prepare the computer it took almost 2 hours. Once the computer and files was ready, it took him around 1 hour to update my car. It went through smoothly. I couldnt thank Trigital enough. He is professional, really know what he was doing. His contribution to the MB community is immensed. If you need help, you should reach out to him
One last question to people who already done this: Does the apple carplay, android auto map dispaly on multi function panel (between speedo mater)?? Im still learning my way around the new setup. So far when Android auto is connected, multi function display showed "androi auto is active" and nothing else!!.
