CPS Early Warning ?

Code has status "STORED": this is only half a problem... You may quickly prevail for free.

This fault is related to "bad connection" with CPS, it may be an early warning of oil in harness.

How old are your CPS and pigtails?
Time for a visual inspection or new pigtails or CPS/Pigtails x4Pcs to save your time.

You can swap parts around keeping track or which is where.
Finally clear faults.

Sorry to hear you're getting fault codes. I have a set of 4 CPS I got from FCP that I never got around to install. Would you like to buy them? Shoot me a message if you are interested.

@CaliBenzDriver So, again you were 100% correct. On the bank one exaust fitting there was oil. Used electronics cleaner and air to blast it out best I could. Fortunatly, these sensors were purchased (not too long ago) from FCP and will be replaced at no cost to me.

So now your simple repair bill of materials looks like this:
-- 4x Pcs: CPS + 3-Pins Pigtail extensions
-- 4x Pcs: VVT-Solenoids + 2-Pins Pigtail extensions

How many Miles did the new parts took to fail this time... 10, 20, 30k Mi?

Have you heard high-pitched hissing 15mn after stopping your engine... fuel rail heat soak pressure backing into sealed fuel tank.

They have maybe 30k on them. There is a rumor that the Camshaft Solenoid kit needs special tools? I cant imagine what tools...looks to me like some torx keys. What am I missing?

no real special tool but you may run into issue with broken plastic coolant pipes.
The torque of solenoid aluminum fastenrs is two fingers tigh with thread sealant to prevent oil leak.

Yakes. I had zero fault codes for the CPS, nor the engine check light on, but after CPS inspections were done, discovered oil at 2 out of 4, then ordered new CPS for replacement. Now, check light is on, CPS still failed. What's going on? LOL......
Pigtails one side were oil contained, and cleaned best we could here. ECU side no oil so think the pigtails are ok for a longer use. Guess will have to replace them as well.

car now is at 110,000km

These are Etorx bolts (male head vs female head that need to be replaced when the sensors are replaced. The only difficult sensor is the one behind the oil filter. People either slightly grind the filter for some more clearance otherwise the entire front timing plate and all of the lines, etc., have to come off in order to replace the solenoid. I have pictures of this repair from when I did this with my check valves a long time ago.. I would definitely look for the “hack “ instead of a ten hour diy job.

For that hard to reach sensor, you need to use a long 8 mm open ended wrench. The sensor can be squeezed out without moving or damaging anything, but to squeeze the new sensor back in becomes precarious in that it could become damaged if nothing is removed to make it easier..

Clean the bolt holes very well of any old sealant because that will cause the new bolts to break before reaching even the extremely low torque number. Those bolts are made of glass…

easy job but a big pain in the *** if you don’t grind the area for access. I did it the laborious way because at the time nobody had shown the hack.

So I was actually wrong in what I said in the timing covers having to come off because that was when I did tensioners and check valves at the same time. So disregard that, but the oil filter does have to be loosened if you do not grind it. Sorry about that, I’d edit, but ya know…

Update:
Solved with exchanging parts around. The CPS is main causing the fault codes. Now it's all fixed. Car runs and idels smoother and gas consumption improved 20%.

I would try using xEntry and perform the “sensor rotor adaptation”

sometimes the sensors and system needs a update on the adaptation when changing sensors and diff forms of sensor from diff manufactures
