Order guide?

I see the E43 on dealer lots for $85,000 (terribly overpriced).
C63's are between $90,000 and $99,000.
No way the E63 is going to be that close to the C63. I think at least $115,000 base price. Just look how much the C63 went up from last generation to now. Getting crazy.

Definitely crazy. It's amazing what makes MB think that AMG can command such a premium. Oh yes, all that mega money per second for that useless commercial at the superbowl all gotta come out of somebody's pockets. No superbowl commercial this year from BMW,which seems to be making a lot more good decisions than MB nowadays. The way things are going, BMW just needs to up their reliability and car's structural strength and I'm jumping the AMG ship.

actually what mercedes is doing is working and what BMW is doing isnt working and that trend has been going on for a while now as their sales continue downward spiral while audi and MB sales are up... exclusivity via price premium is a good marketing strategy if manufacture can pull it off. Look at Tiffany's, rolex, patek philippe, pebble beach, pappy van winkle, Henri IV Dudognon Heritage Cognac Grande

last time i checked most patek's have gone up over 2,000% in value since the 80's and you cant get pappy van winkle 23yr, that retails for $250, for under $2,500 (1,000% premium over retail) and cant get henri iv dudognon heritage cognac for under $2M, so that kind of demand and market appreciation kinda goes against your theory that they are losing their appeal... if they were, they would be trading at a discount, not a 1,000 to 2,000+% premium
rolex are the dog of the group in that they have gone up about 50% in value in the past 4 years (still pretty good dog consider stock market is up only 39% for same period), and being that they are the "cheapest" of the luxury items i listed, that would go back to my original point that cheaper can hurt a brand if you are going after a high-end clientele.... hyundai's dont appreciate/attract collectors/hold value like a Ferrari

You are missing the point, price is no longer a measure of exclusivity They are rising because the world has created many more millionaires and billionaires and every dick and harry is chasing the same status symbols.

i dont disagree that money is not a measure of class as your kardashians case in point but disagree with price as a measure of exclusivity as there are very few people that can afford a $2M bottle of henri iv dudognon heritage cognac... price still is a limiting factor for many people = exclusivity.
Problem is, you are classifying AMG as expensive, when its not... point is , the more you lower the price on something then the less exclusive it becomes and the more it dilutes the brand, basic supply and demand

My 2014 Sedan depreciated $51k from MSRP in less than 30 months and less than 10,000 miles. Surely if you wait a bit you can find a $130k msrp Wagon for $105k slightly used.

I used the word expensive because i was talking in general about luxury items in relation to cars exclusive is the term and AMG is no longer an exclusive vehicle. IMHO, AMG, Burberry, Rolex and LV in particular are probably the worst brands you can associate yourself with....totally *******ized. Think about it, what self respecting man uses LV monogrammed luggage, wallet, shoes etc? If you really were into LV for the product quality, there are many LV products without the in your face monogram. I have seen people buy expensive champagne and mix it with juice or expensive cognac and dilute it with coke. These are the newly minted classless loud idiots we are sharing the AMG brand with so whow can I be happy to share the AMG badge with them? If anything they have come to symbolize what the British call chavs...lower class people without style or class who have come into some money and want you to know. BMW suffered the same fate but this is the reason why BMW is cool now (despite Mercedes having better cars across the board) and AMG isn't because the people buying BMWs now are people who love BMWs, loyal BMW drivers and people who don't follow the herd.
You sound like a douche.

That was one of the first things that I noticed. I think it says a lot about the life-span of the E43 model. I would not be surprised to see an E50 version (similar to what has been mentioned as the top of the E-Class coupe line) with the new I6 engine, replacing the E43 in the 2018 model year.

Thanks for posting. I now have an allocation deposit down at Toronto Downtown Mercedes.
I opted for a Polar White E63S Wagon with the Premium, AMG Drivers, and Intelligent packages.
In addition to the Night Pkg, and Matte Black rims.
Was looking at the Carbon Ceramic Brakes, but I can't justify CDN$15K. Thoughts on this brake setup? My SA was saying that they need to be warmed up first, which isn't great for CDN winters...

go fast grocery getter wagon
the order guide is for sedan, although the wagon ordering guide (Canada) is still not available, the options & packages would be that much different, if at all. If i am wrong, please correct me. You have the pricing ?, last time I asked my SA @ Thornhill MB, he told me it would probably be out in April. I am also ordering a wagon too.
Did you get any price break ?

He mentioned I will receive a "What's New" update in a couple of months, where they will formally put the car order in.
In regards to a price break, I will receive the MB loyalty discount. I will haggle once the order is formally put together.
Funny enough, there are already 3 customers ahead of me for the wagon too...
BTW, I received a ballpark figure of pretax CDN$135K with the options I selected.
Hope this helps.

Thanks.
I gave my deposit for the wagon back in June 2016. I was guarantee to be given the first allocation anywhere in Canada. Reason being my SA said MB Canada does not sell many E63 wagon in the last generation at all, hence the allocation for Cdn orders are fairly small and limited. That's why I rushed in 9 months ago and put in a deposit.
As for pre-ordering the specs for the car, my SA told me to use the sedan version of the ordering guide in which I did tentatively for now. But I certainly will have to adjust my selection to come below $130K + taxes as that's what I am willing to spend for the car.
I approached many MB dealers (corporate owned and not) in the GTA and the max discount 2 dealers willing to give is 5%. Therefore, you will have to aim at this, even though they all said they don't discount brand new gen AMG cars at all.

I had printed what was posted above and brought it in to my SA. My SA created a car profile attached to my account of wagon options I wanted. The SA put things like colour, and packages I opted for.

Does anyone know the weight of the new optional 20" amg forged wheels...
Trying to find wheels for it but realise it is very hard... BBS FIR has no offset for it. HRE P101 is probably the next option but not sure if it will be much lighter than the factory forged wheels.
Hope to hear from other experts.

If your guess is close then HRE P101 would be a good option until bbs fir releases the rear offset for us.
I think HRE p101 20" x 10j is around 20/21 lbs vs BBS FIR 20" x 9.5j et22 around 17.5lbs.
The question is will bbs fir release our rear offset???

I'd bet a whole lot of cash that BBS never releases an FI-R for the E-Class. If you look at the models that they did release it for: F8X, 911's, GT4, etc. they are all vehicles that are used heavily at the track. The E-Class simply isn't that sort of vehicle. BBS manufactures in bulk so they have to know that a fitment they are creating will sell A LOT for it to be worthwhile to them. Unfortunately not many W213 owners purchase premium forged wheels.
A 20"x10" HRE is approximately 20.80 pounds. Far less than any OEM wheel that Mercedes offers.

Damn cheap breaks.. 1 piston rear for the standard breaks? 6-piston fronts for the standard and Carbon, but only the carbon breaks come with 4-piston rear.
I wonder if that will be the same for the wagon, given the added weight in a wagon (hauling crap around).
Thanks for posting the order guide.
