That and what kind of % we can get off MSRP, or if we're going to have to wait it out.

I'm going to ask a friend of mine at FJ what he knows, but if anyone else has anything to share, that would be great.

First year model AMG lease rate?

I'll guess low/mid 50%-ish residual and a MF around .002 3/36, if we're lucky.

I'm interested as well, but I'm not holding much hope for anything out of the ordinary.

Leasing is a way to smooth sales to optimize margin. They have good rates when demand is low, and bad rates when demand is high. Demand is never higher than at launch. So you should expect bad rates for at least the first 6 months.

I am thinking there will be no benefit of 3yr lease over 5yr financing - Monthly payment would be same. I have been leasing for last 10 years and 3 years go by fast and I always wish I would keep the car longer - so a 5 yr finance is a good option for anything above $100k.

Also thinking of Balloon Financing - have done that before in past and it worked out well.

Do tell. I've heard a lot about the balloon finance deal, but never tried it out. What's the credit requirements, etc? How much would I expect to be looking at?

Lease - low payment no commitment of buying at the end (you can if you want by financing the residual value or paying cash- predetermined at time of lease signing, based on payments made and agreed upon price) - Usually 51% of value. My $50K GLK residual is $30K after 3 years, My $61K C300W4 residual is $30K after 4 years. usually 3 year or 4 lease is best. for me 3 year is too short on these cars. You can always trade in early- sometimes MB may pay off your balance, or you will have to.

Financing - is best if you have spare monthly $ and want to keep the car

Balloon - is best when you don't have spare monthly $ and want to keep the car. You are committing upfront to buying the car just as finance - you own it when you sign. It reduces your monthly by basically leasing part of the value of the car - remainder is called the Balloon (usually 51% of initial value)- which you have to finance at the end or pay off with cash. Some dealers won't do it because of low rates.
Just found out my dealer (Very large dealer) has never done it.

I did Balloon on My 2013 BMW-HP4 (motorcycle) - 4yr - $26K bike I spent another $20K on the bike and financed the balloon this month, Bank doesn't care how much you put in it. They considered the Balloon amount as 90% value - still did it at a resealable rate. I finance it for 24months and will pay it off in 10m.

If you want to keep the car finance is best - but if monthly is too high do balloon financing - basically you can extend a normal 60-72month financing to double that - financing twice. hence reducing monthly payments

By the way I got 12% off on my GLK and %16.5 off on my C300 - its tiring process. But my dealer and I have an understanding - last deal we did the GM had to come out. and we met in the middle

Yeah, or even 72 month financing. I can get 72 month financing at 1.99% through USAA if I use their car buying service (2.49% if just a normal purchase). If you assume a $120K OTD price, the monthly payment for a 72 month loan at 1.99% is $1,769... not cheap by any stretch, but if you compare that to a lease with a 50% residual and 0.002 money factor your payment is even higher (120K - $60K) / 36 = $1,667 + financing ($120K+$60K)*.002 = $360, so you'd be looking at a $2K per month lease for 36 mo at those rates. With the financing, at the end of 36 months, your loan balance would be $61,789... which probably wouldn't leave you upside down on the car assuming normal mileage.

That said, I'll wait 2 years and pick up a CPO'd model and let someone else take that first 2 year depreciation hit.

Almost all AMG's run standard lease rates, only highly over produced models will get a factor subvened program. The E63 will get the best standard rate, if you qualify via an automated approval, at .00190 (currently Tier 1A rate) and residuals are left to be seen but I would assume 56% for 15k 36 month residual, adding up to 4% if you drop to 7500 miles per year.

As for discount, expect hardly anything up front as early adopters always pay full tilt to be the first one on the block. Wait for the model to hit the ground and saturate the market, then you will see some discounts.

I wont even delve in the reasons why one should or shouldnt lease as it always seems to turn into that type of thread when one asks for lease data.

The UK site has pricing now and car configurator. Though all options may not be the same for US market but you can get a good idea.

My car build came to £102,000

I opted for carbon fiber interior vs matte paint, went wit regular paint and wheels and no ceramic brakes. still hefty.

Those Ceramic brakes are expensive. I still don't get the 1-caliper vs/ 4-caliper option. Doesn't make any sense, unless they figure 1 is enough for standard AMG performance brakes over 4.

Personally, I think I'll stick with black package, pano roof and a couple small options, like rear heated seats, the adaptive lights and the AMG exhaust. Everything else on the car looks gorgeous as is. No carbon fiber for me because NFC charging is more important to me.

The AMG exhaust is a must - shame it doesn't come standard on the E63S

I like all the driver aids - I have them on the C and lover them.

don't need rear heated seated, prefer the front heated and ventilated hope the US model has front ventilated seats.

I like the NFC option, but as far as I know at this time you are stuck with the black Piano finish on the center console- don't like that. you can only pick the upper trim. So unless they allow to match both I would rather pass on the NFC and get the CF. I have the black matte wood on the C both on upper trim and center console and prefer it much more.

the US books show some differences to the UK site.

but looks like I will be looking at $145K with tax/registration - will have to put down some and finance the rest. I am going to wait till the end of the year or so to place the order.

To get the heated and ventilated seats I think you have to get the Multicontour seats at least in the USA. It refers to multi contour seats on the order form and not seat like it use to so I'm assuming both drivers and passenger seats are the mulitcontour seats with the Massage functions, I hope so because with just my massager on my side only my better half gets pissed off when I'm getting massage and she is not, lol. I'm getting mine with the lined Magnolia wood which in my opinion looks awesome, wish I could get wood on the center console but like you said, piano black it is. I really hope the sticker on my car is in the 120's but with the driver assistance and a lot of other things like the led lighting package, exhaust etc, might bring the car into the 130's.

On the UK site it says "incl. VAT excl. OTR". So looks like OTR is excluded.

I think the heated & ventilated seats are standard for the US. At least that's what the order guide I received showed me. I just wish I would get some actual prices on options. Such a pain in the *** when they don't tell you until 11:59.

Any updates here? I was quoted 58% residual and an astronomical .0028 (!!) on a 36/7500 lease. When I leased my S6 3.5 years ago rates were ~ 3.9%.
