To Wagon or Not to
Thinking of placing the order for E63S,
Wife says no Wagon ( we have a SUV as well)
My heart says Wagon
What is more desirable in the long run? thinking of keeping it for a while.

Good point - I will be driving and drooling over and cleaning mostly (90%)
But what has more resale sedan or wagon - just in case if things change in future.
Will be financing
Want to be sure I make a good decision so I can be happy over all.
I know she will be happier with a sedan
Also bummed that CF console does not support NFC charging

go fast grocery getter wagon
cannot say ... it all depends on your local market.
I am in Canada, my sales advisor told me the wagon is not in strong demand, hence the resale value (trade in value as well) will be about 5-10% worse than a sedan. Typical buyers in my region are looking for CUV/SUV type, rather than wagon. For me, I intend to order a wagon anyway ... just for pure love of the look and utility.

Searched the forum and did some googling, it seems the wagon costs a lot more to insure, its 9th most expensive to insure, sedan is not mentioned in the top 10.
I am thing it will cost $2400-$3500 to insure, clean record, married, no kids, too old

I haven't ruled out the wagon yet either... There are a few things that keep steering me back to the sedan. The wagon cost more (granted not a lot but enough to cut into the cost of the CCBs or something else semi-important). The W212 vs. S212 pricing (I think this was the final pricing) was $101,700 vs. $105,225 (+$3,525).
All of the published performance numbers show the wagon a second slower than the sedan (3.4s vs. 3.3s). This is most likely a fraction of a second difference, but there must be hard evidence that the wagon is slower.
I wasn't aware of the insurance differences... that also stinks.

I would go for the wagon as you may literally have one of a kind with the right option combination. They are just so rare!

In addition the market for wagons is small. I think you would have a harder time selling it, and resale value would be worse

Wow, I'm surprised at the comments on here. It must be slow on this subforum...
High performance wagons normally have a very strong cult-like following (me included). Very popular to have a wagon that kicks butt. The E AMG wagons normally command a significant premium over the sedans on the used market.

agree...sedans are dime a dozen. I waited a while for my w212 wagon and love it. The only problem with selling them is waiting for the right person to buy it. Just my 2 cents...

Wife got to see the E-400 today she liked it, we got c-300 4matic sport with all the options to go with the GLK. So wagon should be in near future.

I personally am jacked for the wagon. I drive a tuned Audi S6 which was great initially but now there are a lot of them out there. The wagon will be unique. Plus i have 4 kids and will enjoy the usefullness of the wagon
