Okay, so it's out in the wild already. I guess it's hard to notice because the new E and C look so similar.

That must be the color of choice for the training/demo cars. There was one in Atlanta the other day exactly like it with Florida plates.
That must be a hard stressful job by the way.

Sorry, I was meaning for the E63 specifically. It's a very bold color choice for that car. I'm starting to consider it for a purchase, but with the night package. The only thing that worries me is resale value or marketability. But since I'm considering a lease this time, I'm not too worried.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Me too in a Wagon with the Forged silver wheels, carbon fiber mirror covers and no night package. It's gonna look good with the nut brown interior and the Magnolia trim.

I was able to see one last week, looked awesome. He also was a regional guy for AMG. There's apparently 9 in the wild and they're breaking them in for the AMG driving academy, so I hear...

The front half of the sedan looks much more aggressive than the rear half. The wagon looks better!
....perhaps they'll have some updates in an 'R' version with a more aggressive profile down the road....

So, perhaps I missed someone else complain about this, but what's up with the cheap-*** rear breaks in the non-ceramic package? Really... 1-piston breaks? Or I just mis-read the option packages someone posted a few weeks ago. And even the ceramic rear breaks look skimpy despite being 4-piston. I get it: most of the weight lunges forward under hard breaking, but would it be too much to have a regular 4-piston set on the rear?

E63 has 14.2” x 1.4” internally vented and perforated compound brake discs with six-piston brake calipers at the front axle and 14.2” x .9” rotors with single-piston floating brake calipers at the rear.
E63 S is fitted with even larger 15.4” x 1.4” compound brake discs on the front axle

Yeah, single-piston rear brakes are consistent with the other CCB configurations. Here are the E63S vs GT brake configurations:
E63 S (including E43):
GT (including GT S and GT R):

Back when I was roadracing motorcycles a lot of guys would grind away some of the rear brake disk pad material or in some cases bleed in a little bit of air to help make the rear brake less effective.
The weight transfer is such that it's not uncommon to loft the rear tire a little and have it just hover above the ground as you're slowing down for a corner.
Back in the days before anti-lock brakes, I've had cars that would frequently lock the rear brakes with even modest brake pressure still being applied at corner entry.
You don't need a lot of brake power at the rear.
I'm guessing that Mercedes has worked all this out and figured that one caliper would do the job. And, it's less parts to fail
