Customer E63 Deliveries - Update please
Has anyone at the end customer level, taken deliveries of the E63 anywhere in the world?
If yes, where are you located, and when did you get your car? Thanks, |
mind has been push back 3 times, its in port since 1 month now. the new delivery date they gave me is june 12.
|
Still waiting, was told first told early June but no date set for the dealer launch in Australia as yet, first cars now in Aus but looking like somewhere around the 3rd week of June delivery to customers, hopefully !!!!
|
I was told today that my car is in Halifax awaiting certification. Dealer told me to expect a July delivery after initially feeling it would be June. They haven't been able to provide much certainty at all on date or pricing. I am in Calgary and am the second allocation at my dealer. Would like to see it get here as I got the first 2014 here and am coming up on my buyout and 80k on the clock at the same time.
|
My feeling is that the certification process is what's holding up the pricing & hence the deliveries. They don't want to say when and how much until it gets through that.
|
Mine ahs also been sitting in Halifax Canada forever it seems, an I gather the US cars are stuck in NJ, so I am keen to understand what's going on outside North America.

The 2018 Panamera was held at port for 3-4 months pending certification (possibly punishing VW), and the 2013 M5 took 6 weeks to be released. |
My 2017 E400 (Canada) was held up in port for 5 months awaiting certification!!!!! no joke, arrived in Halifax in November 2016, finally delivered in April 2017.

I have an E63s which arrived in Halifax on May 30 (couple of days ago). I tracked it across the pond on the Wallenius site. I live in Toronto so it's a two day rail trip from Halifax. It's invoice date is June 3 (tomorrow). I seem to perpetually know more than my dealer about the progress, and, frankly, it's frustrating. Again, I have zilch zero nada on pricing. Mercedes Canada (corporate office) is typical of other car companies, very aloof from customers, with no updates...Irritating

That's really stupid on how MB Canada still have no pricing at all as the car is literally sitting in the dealer's parking lot.
I last spoke to my dealer (Thornhill) two weeks ago and he said the car is being held up for certification and MB Canada has no clue when it will be done

Same boat as most of you. Car ordered last fall. Held in Halifax since late May. Dealer told me from the day it arrived that it is pending certification and that he does not expect it before mid June to early July. I was hopeful for sooner but I guess not.
We expect to know more next week. I will keep you posted. |
Frustration also toward the government agencies that make certification such an arduous process. MB USA and Canada prob tight lipped because I imagine it is a bit of a tense period...prob like an IRS audit. Not quite sure when its going to end and whether it will turn out OK. I just wish the process could have occurred months ago when cars were first showed up in EU and not 11th hour just before deliveries are supposed to take place in N America. I have June build and hope this passes over before car gets to US. Good luck to you guys with cars in port already!

thanks! I just added some side pics in the previous post |
I really hope they don't sit for five months. I'm a firm believer that these machines & their systems are designed to be used, not to sit & that's how things go wrong. If this drags on the cachet of having one of the first will be lost & I'll let someone else take this car and I'll order another.

Looks like AMG Ctr in Kuwait? I don't think it has any bearing for those of us in NA. Pricing or delivery.
i hate the rear looks like just another regular E with a heavy bottom. The twin pipe just looks like they were added aftermarket. What a design failure. |

Congratulations, you are the first to report receiving a car. Please let us know your impressions of the drive. Also some interior pictures would be a appreciated.
|
Where is that first delivery located?
|
Yes interior pics would be great. Also what was the pricing and where are you located, maybe could convert your dollars in US dollars and I could figure out roughly how much my car is gonna cost.
|
I believe the license plate frame indicates Kuwait. I do not believe you can estimate the cost in the US based on prices over seas. I thick we just have to wait for the pricing information to be released in the US. The release of this car seems odd, with what seems to be minimal deliveries and unknown pricing. There are probably more people that have received cars and just do not participate in these forums. Perhaps we are just anxious and simply wanting information and delivery reports before we should.
|
Delay is one more example of government abusing (Oops I mean protecting us)....
|
The wait must be excruciating for you guys, so close yet so far.
Don't want to panick anyone, but I heard (for us CDN's) that CN rail is threatening a strike, which would obviously impact the rail portion of the trip...(NVM, read the union reached a deal, no strike hooray) I only received by build month last Friday for August, with a September deliverey. One thing that bothers me is that the heated windshield is delayed, and I had to ok the build without it :/ ugh |
