EVO (UK) Test #'s

In the latest issue of EVO (UK), they tested the E63 S against the Panamera Turbo:

E63 S:
0-60 mph: 3.4s
0-100 mph: 7.4s
0-130 mph: 11.8s
0-150 mph: 16.6s
1/4m: 11.5 @ 127.6 mph

Panamera Turbo:
0-60 mph: 3.4s
0-100 mph: 8.3s
0-130 mph: 13.1s
0-150 mph: 18.6s
1/4m: 11.8 @ 121.4 mph

Overall they gave the nod to the E63 S (a 5 star rating compared to 4.5 stars for the Panamera Turbo)

The ET is 11.5 yet the trap speed is 127mph+ ???

Seems really odd. Thats a damn high trap speed for a stock car.

^ seems normal to me... about the same as what tuned W212 e63's run (11.2-11.4 @ 126 ish)

high trap and slower et = bad launch

2018 E63S AMG
Haven't had any cars that run those times, but did run my 1999 Yamaha R1 at the local track (Carlsbad raceway, north of San Diego) before it was closed down.

10.90 s at 135 MPH is what I recall. Bikes don't launch as hard due to need to control wheelies and really make it up on the top end.

In contrast, my tuned 2003 F-250 with 6 liter diesel ran 14.33 s at 93 MPH with a 4WD launch (stock it was 16 s flat at 84 MPH).

Given that the 4WD AMG probably gets a good launch, the 127 MPH for an 11.5 s run doesn't seem all that whacky.

most of them runnng 11.2-11.1 are 126+

seems off, maybe was a bad launch.

Thanks.
Great numbers.
Which issue of EVO is that?
My new EVO (electronic copy) just arrived with a picture of a Lambo on the cover but no E63 tests.

You have to remember it is a U.K. based magazine and they may not be using a 1 foot roll out since that mimics a drag strip. So that 11.5 may be closer to an 11.25 at the track. They even referenced their vbox in the article(GPS based). So The trap speed would also come down at the track to something closer to 126 mph.

amazing performance for a stock car. Now I wonder how much room they are leaving on the table for a tuned one. I got a feeling they are almost getting the most out of it from factory

Wow - the interval from 60-100 seeks where the majority gap is for these measurements.

What is the top speed for the Porsche?

I haven't been on the M side in awhile (ever since I traded the M5). But I saw you got the new RS7 Performance. Let me see if I can dig anything up on it.

Not likely. That's what's they said when the CLA 45 came out, and then they found an additional 100 hp in just a tune and down pipe.
