Latest news from my SA

Mb Canada says most likely sept sometime... something to do with 4matic certification by the gov’t

im really not getting this. It’s pretty bad... I’m inclined to cancel my order only because no one can actually give me an answer... delays I can deal with if you tell me why. Leaving everyone hanging? Not cool...

I got told today that the 2018 c63 just got certified and the e63 is next. I could have my car trailered out for an extra 1500 and have it 3 days after certification or have it come out on the train and get it in 10 days or so.

Still second guessing myself. Thankfully my dealer has a demo on the way as well. I'm going to need to drive it to make up my mind

Time is money after all.

& delivery charge shows up on every new car purchase, this would just be a bit more for those that need it asap.

I told them the train is fine with me, I'll be travelling in Ontario until the end of august & I doubt it shows up before labour day anyway.

Has anyone in the US received their car? Is the certification in Canada contingent on the US?

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
The more I think about it, it's probably Trumps watered down EPA that is the reason for the delay in Certification. Things are all screwed up with the US EPA as they had massive $$$ cuts. I have the feeling though the E63 AMG will be certified any day now though. I think they just lined things up at EpA and did all they could with their limited staff and resources and yes I'll bet the Canada certification is somewhat based on the USA Certification.

Me neither because my car is being made Sept 11 and I don't want it sitting at port forever. I just found out the price on my car today, it's gonna be $116 K which is less than I thought so thats all good news.

Cool. I really am looking forward to getting this car. I sold my 2012 AMG Wagon back 6 weeks ago and am missing all the power of that car, although I will say the 2015 S550 I replaced it with has surprised me for a nearly 5000 pound land yacht it performs as good as I ever dreamed of. Debating on doing a OE Tune on it for 1200 bucks. The 2018 E63 Amg though is gonna be amazing.

Did you really just blame trump for our car delays. Somebody earlier today told me he was to blame for a container delivery I have coming from China too. Is he really to blame for everything

Well he has really scaled back EPA that was one of the first things he did. As far as I know this delay is being caused by the 2018's having a delay in EPA certification. The staff was cut way back at EPA vehicle testing.

I have a 2018 e43 sitting at the port in Baltimore. Per MB dealer they "expect" it to be cleared by the end of the month. Not sure what that means (if anything) in regards to the e63.

I have an E43 sitting in Halifax since Aug.7th and another E43 sitting in Germany since June 26th. They have told me there is a part problem with the air suspension. On my last conversation with MB I was advised the car in Germany was to be released for the port last week and that they had the parts for the car in Halifax.

This scares the crap out of me that I have all these problems before I even drive these suckers. I have a bad feeling about these cars.

I was advised by my dealer today that the cars have now been certified and deliveries are being arranged. I was given a dealers date of September 5th and possibly sooner.

What country and for E63 or E43? Anybody else hear anything like this or just another false promise by a dealer?

Just looked on the government sites. Just another dealer blowing smoke. Your car won't be delivered by Sep 5. Sorry.

E63 that arrived in Halifax June 23. I have a good relationship with the dealer principle and there is no advantage for him to bull**** me on the car.

I think this is the list. click on the MY2018 "Certified Vehicle Models" XLS .. Excel spreadsheet. It was dated sometimes in Aug 2017.

This is fascinating. The E63S has not been certified even though customer cars are sitting at port.

Meanwhile the GLC63 and GLC63S have been certified even though they don't begin US production till November!

Maybe the list was sourced and updated as of Aug 1, 2017 ? because there have been other brands which have just gotten the certification in the last couple of weeks but not on this list.

I believe one example is 2018 MB C63S, it was certified, at least in Canada very recently and I would think this would be approved in the US as well.
