EDP vs Dealer Order
Brand new to the board. ............looking for feedback.
I'm shooting for the best possible deal on a E63S. Any thoughts around EDP vs old school negotiating an order or onsite car next January\February? I gathered the EDP can get me about 6% off MSRP ( 5%+ destination) . And sounds like i could squeeze another 2-3% on top, for a total 8-9%. As far as ordering or buying at a dealer is not clear to me how much can I get- but by Jan\Feb the dealers might be a bit more willing to negotiate. In all of my previous MBenz cars (7 total) I paid on average $600 over invoice. I don't think it will be the same for this car. Looking for opinions . Thanks in advance |
EDP is fixed 5% discount. You can get more with regular US Delivery dealer order.

The question is can you ever get the car with the way things are going with nobody being able to get theirs. Maybe just put one on order and try to negotiate for 8 percent off msrp with a few dealers and see if anyone of them bites. Worth a shot and you may have the car by January or so if MB gets its act together.

There are some additional savings I believe applicable to both programs.
I am sure there are others too that I'm missing. Are these discounts stackable? |
Depends on what you're after. I was going to do the EDP regardless of discount, but having the discount and saving the $995 was a plus.
Dealer may provide some additional discount on top of the EDP. Have GS status on United but haven't attempted apply the United Benz discount on top. Meant to ask my dealer about it but forgot. Flights are booked and getting excited about delivery soon :) |
Thank you for your feedback- I'll try a couple of dealers and see how deep of a discount i can get.

Good Point - I guess Ill go to the mat with 2 dealers- one EDP and the other special order
|
Lets us know how it goes..... Im very interested in doing the EDP experience.
