W213 E63s Build
Figured I would start a thread to log the journey. Came from a 2014 E63s, and have had the 2018 for almost a week. Prior car was tuned, had catless downpipes, filters, two ECUs, and six tunes to choose from. Took all of that, and methanol/water injection to turn it into a consistent 10 second car...ran 10.9 at 129 all day day long. This new car feels much faster and smoother, due to the massively improved trans and chassis...really enjoying it.
Will keep this car fairly stock. Already lowered it via the Renntech module. Will tune and swap for some wider, and better offset, wheels eventually. First three pictures are lowered sensibly, with a pretty decent ride. The last is very low....still rides just fine, albeit quite firmly.
Really fun car.

Congrats! Beautiful looking car! Which dealer did you buy it from? How would you describe the ride vs ‘14?

Thanks man; hope all is well. Bought it from MB of South Orlando, but we actually found the car at a dealership in N. Carolina. Both ride great and are quite firm...both of my cars were lowered, and last one had 20's with low profile rubber, so I'm used to firm, and actually like firm. If I drive the car like in the last pic (1.66 inch drop at all corners), it's a bit too much, so I'll likely go back to less of a drop.

Looks nice. I am biased towards the raked look. I think a little higher on the rear in the first pic.
If the camber is anything like the W211 then be prepared for new tires in less than 5k miles.

I think I agree with you...still playing with it. Yeah, the 212 was the same...front tires for me would go very quickly!

I dont worry about camber all too much as I like to turn my cars, like you.... the key in tire wear is the toe. I hate scrubbing.

So up to 750 miles now on the car, and absolutely loving it. It's such an incredible machine.
Ended up raising my car back up to the Renntech setting in the lowering module....looks sick and rides quite nice. My custom setting will be good for interstate driving probably. Then I also have a super low setting for those times when, well, you want your car super low.
Drift mode...this is super fun. Not only because you can light up tires all day long, but because it's a challenge. The car is a blast in AWD mode of course, and learning the car in that mode is one thing. Learning to handle it in RWD mode is another. Fun stuff.

Agreed. It's definitely something to practice/utilize on the track or when you have some space and throttle control. Awd gets us all feeling pretty good about things.... switching to rear only is different for sure. But fun.

Taking the car to the WannaGoFast 1/2 mile event in Ocala on January 20th (Saturrday). I'll be Weistec tuned by then; curious to see what she'll do, tune only. For those of you nearby, it's a pretty fun event. Ran my 14 E63 a couple of months ago, and had a blast. Car did 158.9 four times, running catless, meth/water injection (for cooling), tuned, and UPD intake spacers with BMC filters...very happy with those results.
Some super-powered cars running well over 200mph are to be there as well.

Did some racing tonight. Car is stock, aside from being lowered.
DA = 943 feet
All runs utilizing race start. The first run was done with traction in 'sport' mode. The next three were run with traction 'off'. With traction completely off, traction is an issue...even lowered tire pressures to 31psi. Stickier rubber would be good.
Last run was against a stock Hellcat. Cars are very close, as you can see.
Getting tuned on Monday w/ filters....will run the car again afterwards.

Im with you vic...was expecting a bit higher traps as well. Talked with the hellcat guy for a few. He goes often, and he was not happy with his traps tonight...says he's normally closer to 124. Who knows, but yeah, we'll see what a tune and filters can do in the next week or two....quarter mile and half mile.
