I did a ton of research before buying my E1 E63S which will be sharing my DD duties with my CTT. I knew what I was getting into with some of the *cool* features missing from the E1. However, I thought the exclusivity the Black Magno paint, yellow stitching, yellow accents, etc. out weighed the missing features. I am also a carbon fanatic. I ordered all of the pieces from my dealer to give me both exterior carbon packs. I should have those installed next week. This week I am getting Tint and an Escort MAX CI 360 with a Midcity integration unit.
So my question: Has anyone retrofitted the QI Wireless pad yet? I am going to go over the parts diagram with my dealer this week to see what is needed.
PS... Please do not judge my dirty black tile floors in my home garage! LOL It's winter for a couple more months.
Sorry, don't know the answer to your question since my E63 came with the charging pad. But I didn't realize the dealers can order the exterior carbon fiber bits. I would really like the CF spoiler. Do you know how much it was and how long it took to get delivered? Thanks.
PLEASE post pics after you get the carbon packs installed. I was considering doing that as well. Sorry I can’t answer about the wireless but I can tell you I ordered a wireless “wireless” charger, took out the cup holders since I don’t use them and placed this device under the pad to make it seemlees. This set up works well but not as well as the factory installed as I have to take it out every so often to charge it.

i had the CI360 and midcity integration installed over the weekend. One word of warning : the midcity integration didn’t work on the 2018 W213 E63. I don’t know why, but midcity said there was a compatibility issue, and are developing a new module to solve the problem. They hope to have the new module ready in a day or so.

I get my car back tomorrow, but my installer was able to get the MidCity integration unit installed on my E1 E63S using the Escort Max CI 360.
I will posts some pics tomorrow when I get the car back. It recieved ceramic tint, door handles, and rear chrome strip were vinyl wrapped in matte black. Next week all of the carbon will be installed then off to my PPF guy for full XPEL Matte PPF wrap.

Mid-city made some updates to their module for the W213 and sent it out yesterday. It should arrive with my installer tomorrow and hopefully get installed Saturday morning.

The MAX CI 360 runs about $3500 installation takes a full day. I have the 9500CI in many of my cars, which is the previous version. I swear by it! It does have front and rear laser diffusers/jammers. These guys save me on a weekly basis. We have a lot of speed traps in my area. Install was another $800. It's an investment but totally worth it.

They have a new module and should be able to send it to you, They literally did the development this week and tested it on a 2018 E Class. My new module is arriving today. Will try to get it installed tomorrow.

One disappointment was that the midcity engineering controls don't give you full control of the menus. They only offer a limited set of menus. So for instance I don't know how to change the bands.

I pretty much set it and forget it. Hit mute and turn off the system. My replacement unit ships on Monday. Today My integration display disappeared. No idea why or how? Hopefully the new unit fixes things.

The display only works in certain HUD and left screen views so if you are in the wrong view then you lose the display.

I'm curious what you're hearing from Mid-city. Is this as good as it gets or will they continue to develop the W213 module to provide more functionality and flexible display options? Also, curious if you are satisfied with the product given the limitations you outlined. Thanks!

I don't think there will be any further development. Midcity is focused on adding more vehicle brands and models. That is a lot of work. It's a small business.
The functionality is adequate. I do think there is room for improvement, but the functionality they offer is the same as what they have offered for years on various escort detectors and I see no evident of ambition to elevate that. Not without some competition.
The main limitation is that you can't control all the menus, and configure bands for instance. However you can access all these menus using the Escort app connecting to the radar unit via bluetooth. So given that, the missing menus don't really matter. I would also love for them to use proper arrows instead of F/R to indicate direction but I think this is a canbus limitation - they can only interface text to the mercedes interface.
