F90 M5 lapped "the Ring" in 7:38.92... time for the E63S!
There was the E63S wagon lapping the Ring last fall in 7:45.19, and now the same driver has put the new M5 to the test. It is clearly time for the E63S Sedan to be put to the test. Still seemed challenged for lateral traction like the wagon, and was not nearly as clean as the GT R run.

At Audi and Mercedes driving schools they both teach you to sit closer to the wheel so that you have better leverage and also so that your arms drop more naturally. That way you are less fatigued over longer driving stints.

Jump in your car, in your normal seating position real quick. Sit so that your hips are all the way set back into the seat, and your shoulders are all the way back in the seat as well. If you have your entire back onto the seat, try to touch your wrist (or watch if you've got one on), on the top of the steering wheel. If you've pulled your shoulder blade off the seat to reach, you're not in the correct/proper seating position. You should be able to set your wrist on top of the steering wheel without having to pull your shoulder off the seat to do so. The intent and reason behind it is because often people try to steer with their shoulders, rather than their forearms/hands. By sitting closer, you won't pull your shoulder off the seat, therefore you're only using your forearms and hands with a more delicate touch than the huge muscles that your shoulder are connected to. The idea is fine, smooth inputs on the steering wheel from your hands, not large massive movements from your shoulder.

He's not uncomfortable, otherwise he would change the seating position. Where and how he's sitting is proper. You also need to take into consideration the fish-eye lens on the camera which is making it appear like he's closer to the steering wheel than he actually is.

Thats what I was going by. His wrists would reach way past the top of the wheel if he stretched his arms out.
Maybe it works for him but this is the rule of thumb

I think it might just be the camera's mounting angle of the cars making it seem more off in the sedans vs the coupe

Crappy microphone problem on that video. F90 M5 sounds excellent.

This is not stateside, this car has the M Sport Exhaust and its much better than the cars that are getting delivered over here (that option is not yet available in the US).
You can though get the part (its different piping and resonator) for about 1500 dollars and install it over here. And the F90 US exhaust still sounds way better than the F10 crap (OEM)

Much like a lot of what we do, wheel styles are a personal preference, same with exhaust note if you ask me. Depends on who you ask if it's excellent, but personally, nothing better sounding than a V8 with turbos, which is why I love my X5.

a V8 without turbos to most people sounds better

Actually isnt bad rowing it in the track. Power range is huge (4300-7500)so your in 3rd for the most part. Only need second in super tight corners and 4th on long straights.

AMG chief had recently hinted that the AMG GT 4door was running 7:30 on the Nurburgring in unofficial runs, putting it ahead of the Alfa.
Guess we’ll see once Sport Auto gets a hold of one for a confirmed run
