Cat scratch fever on magno paint

Well, sort of. In this case it was a dog.

We were house sitting a friends dog for a week and when I came home today she jumped up on the driver's door and put some light scratches on it.

My dog is trained not to jump up on our cars, so I'm not used to worrying about that when the dog is out when I come home. The dog we are sitting is a very nice dog and while I was pretty ticked off, I'm not mad at her, but was pretty darn frustrated with the situation at the time.

I wiped down the side of the car and cleaned off her paw prints and gave the area a light rub with a damp microfiber towel, but there are still some light scratches there that you can see in the right light.

Any ideas? I don't think you can "buff it out" on magno finishes.

The downside of buffing magno finishes is that it makes it glossy. Can't correct without repainting the whole panel.

...mango, mongo, and magnos aside (sorry, couldn't resist ;-) this thread (First major scratch on Magno paint!) may offer some assistance (see posts 8 and 34) good luck.

Oh, man, I'm sorry to hear this. My stupid dog won't jump onto our cars, but he has done it to visitors. It is a Labrador... what did you do to teach it not to jump up on any car?
Good luck with your repair.

When I had my night magno C63, I carried this bottle along with a MF towel in my trunk for the occasional bird dropping or something else getting on the paint when I was out and about.

A little hazy this morning and in this light I don't see the scratches. I think they're only going to show when the sun is out and even then I'll probably be the only one who sees them. I know I'm going to lose it over the first door ding too. Can't keep it new forever . . .

Our dog is a mini-Aussie. Very energetic and loves to chase frisbees or fetch rocks, finds the right rock even at night. Could give a flip about balls though, not sure what's up with that. He's pretty smart and all I did was sharply say "down" a couple of times when he would jump up on my jeep when I came home. Not worried about that vehicle much as I've put plenty of desert pin striping on it myself, so a couple of dog scratches won't even be noticed. But he got the hint pretty quickly.
