Engine misfires causing check engine light?!

Has anyone else had issues with their check engine light coming on because of cylinder misfires? I brought my car to the dealership because the check engine light came on and they’re telling me there is an internal Mercedes memo out stating that the E63s engines are misfiring in cylinders 1 and 6, but there is no fix currently.

Did the CEL turn off after restarting the car?

Good luck. I had CEL that was caused by misfires - car is now being repurchased. They apparently do not have a fix for it. I would start looking for a new car in the meantime.

The code will need to be cleared even if the misfire is not present any more.

Has this engine had issues in other cars it’s used across the MB line up?

I had an issue a few weeks ago. Got back from a 300-mi road trip, parked car to drop someone off, left engine running, when I got back in the car the CEL light was on and it was vibrating quite badly. I was very close to home, drove slowly, got home, turned car off and back on, CEL went out and no further issues since.

Weird...
