E63 AMG S Afraid of driving once delivered
Hello Everyone,
My build date is 12/2D/18, been reading alot of the post made and really sorry how some of you guys have had some major issues with your E63 amg S. I am just afraid to even drive my car once I get delivery. Anyone know if those issue would be resolved by the time my car is built?

Its the Net, you will only read the bad stories here. Drive the car!!!! As I have stated before here and on other forums, people with good experiences or no issues chalk it up to par for the course and wont post. This place is a microcosm of E63S buyers and there are many owners that dont come to the forums who dont have issues. Only a MBUSA employee with full access to the claims could give you a true count.
My build is the earliest out there (02/2017)...with zero issues and I mean zero.

Don’t drive it
keep it in garage, service it once a year, sell it after warranty ends.
seriously, one guy afraids to Race Start car another to drive it...got a feeling like cars in US don’t have a warranty lol

An April '18 build here, 4500 miles, not a single issue. For every problem on here there's an order of magnitude of owners that don't have any issues. Search to see how many "I haven't had a single problem" threads have been started...
No one who has a problem free experience feels compelled to let everyone know unprompted.

Depending who you listen too here
generally drive it like you stole it. Some have done this from the minute they took delivery, others respected the break in period, some are somewhere in between. Either way what Vic55 said earlier in this thread is where it’s at. Drive it and enjoy it!

As Vic noted earlier, folks don't post good news as often as the bad--it's just not human nature.
I don't imagine you'll encounter anything that the warranty won't cover and it'll most likely be nothing at all. Of course, I can't see the future but the stats back me up

my 212 was drinking oil like crazy for the first few thousand miles
crossed 1k mi Mark with 213 and still enough oil
are these new engines less thirsty, or this is just coincidence?

No oil consumption issues which might be attributed to a completely different engine in that of the M177 vs the M157 but then again I didnt have oil consumption issues on my 3 M157's.

apparently you’ll love it once you receive it anywhere from mid-October to mid-November.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
My car has been fine as was my 2012 E63 AMG wagon which I drove 53K miles. The main maintenance cost on these cars seems to be tires, they are generally only good for 10 to 20K miles. The other main cost is depreciation as most have learned, but like the saying goes, you gonna play, you gotta pay.
