This E63S wagon better be sick, otherwise this may be first and last MB.
My salesperson confirmed that she got the same graphic showing the various releases as was originally posted here. As several forum members working at dealerships have already pointed out, the best thing to do is expect December and be pleasantly surprised if the cars get released earlier.

Agreed. Can only set expectations low—December—and anything earlier would be great.

Can’t imagine they’d NOT release by December—need to punch those unit numbers for Q4...

Any proof of this? Would make me feel a lot better!

Nothing to blame your SA because a lot of info is not communicated from the top and in my opinion that is very wrong.

The ball is def moving now the E450s were officially released today. That’s 1 month before the projected release date which came out 4 days before the car was certified.

Dont think I’m not anxious. My dog Oso is sick and tired of me talking to him about the different scenarios of when our car will be ready. You’re amongst friends here.

LOL. Definitely in a similar boat—only my wife hasn’t one rule about new cars (like Fight Club), “we don’t talk about new cars.”

I wish I could offer proof from Daimler's perspective. My experience is working for another OEM on the corporate side. Our high-value, exclusive-finish vehicles were always segregated and cared for in accordance with our own internal guidelines.

Of course, we were also one of the only OEMs to ship our cars fully wrapped. Still do!

All Mercedes Benz shipped from Eu have code 666 Transportation Protection Foil. Will be interesting to know when they take the foil down at the VPC.

On the VPC subject here is the Mercedes VPC presentation :

Thanks good to know they are probably doing the same. Out of curiosity, what manufacturer were you with? I wish I could order it factory xpel'd. A friend of mine who is a automotive paint specialist will come with me when I see my car. If the paint has been damaged, I just won't take the car. Too much of a headache for these matte jobs to try and replicate factory finish.

Interesting. So they polish up the cars and then put them uncovered on a trailer for a 1,000 mile drive to the dealer? Makes sense.

Lol I noticed that too. They also send it through a machine wash when the owners manual says NEVER to send through a machine wash.

Yes, actually.

But we're all insinuating that MB owns & operates each individual carrier, which is simply not true and also not feasible on such a scale. Subcontracting is the only way to go for that, and because of that, tons of variables are in play for the final leg of shipping.

And idk about you guys, but I've only ever met one carrier driver I've liked, and he was Canadian.

#blanketstatements but in my years in the industry, vehicle transport has proved itself to be the biggest over-promised, under-delivered, can't-rely-on variable to any kind of logistic plan or transaction.

I once watched a guy load an S65 coupe (that I was responsible for) onto the last spot of a trailer fully loaded with wrecked Camrys & Optimas - and this guy clearly handled wrecked Camrys & Optimas on a regular basis - much less a half million dollar AMG flagship. Pretty sure my anxiety got to a level that day that would be un-achievable for any human under normal circumstances.

EDIT: I also had a carrier smash the Pano Roof of a brand new S550 I brought in from Cali. Kept the car on the bottom, trailer's hydraulics compressed, smashed the roof to pieces. This car was also equipped with Magic Sky Control. If you're curious, and because it's hilarious, replacing a Magic Sky Control Pano Roof on a 2017 S550 will take several weeks and cost anywhere between $12-15,000 all said & done.

You would think they would have a contract with a large carrier that has a fleet of curtain trailers. Not some fly by night wrecked Camry hauling renegades. Makes you wonder what other corners are being cut. Perhaps this explains some of the supply chain issues that have been cropping up. Spend the money, get reliable suppliers and service providers. God knows they are charging the premium to cover it.

Uh, actually nothing about MB's supply chain management seems to make sense - or rather that this sensible "plan" is actually being properly implemented. In fact, you have press releases from MBUSA every month showing significant year-over sales drops and these same press releases blame the results on a lack of inventory - where THEY make the product and control the supply chain! This is pretty-much 101 in running a business that makes and sells things. I'm confident that it is the job of quite a few people to make sure that sufficient suppliers are engaged to make parts, that parts get to the factory, that regulatory clearances are applied for and received, and that the products you are selling are delivered to customers on time. All I see here is a company that has failed on most of these counts, that is terrible at communication, that hasn't engaged sufficient suppliers, that is hanging its dealers out to dry, and is pretty much only good at pissing off its customers. Given MB's "reputation" - I think it is all quite surprising - so much for German efficiency. But I'm new to the brand - although if this car doesn't get here soon, I will never become a customer.

MB is #1 Luxury in sales for the past 3 years and overall # are positive year over year since 2008. From a business perspective you cannot build a new factory for every model just because the demand is high. Mercedes always played safe in regards to invest in production. Keeping a demand-supply balance is the smartest thing to do.
A benefit for keeping that balance goes to customers. You will be surprise if I tell you that right now 2015 GLK350 W4 and 2015-2016 E350 W4 are in high demand at MB auction especially ones that are nice specs and are clean.
