Winter Is Coming
So winter is coming and we have summer performance tires that don't perform well below 40 degrees.
I was thinking about purchasing al seasons or maybe snows? What are the rest of you planning?
Was thinking of going to 19's and perhaps purchasing another set of wheels, thoughts and advise?

Yes, actually get three sets of wheels, and yes, winter tires........do you live in Florida or new Hampshire?
And also, it's not correct to start a sentence with SO.

I did the ordering for the tires,
285/30/ R20 in the back
265/35/ R20 in the front
Keeps the rear a little lower like stock and 10mm difference on the rears width is fine.
You have to shop under brand, and then go to tire sizes. Add to cart from there. Can't search under compatible vehicles.

TireRack is showing one option for OEM 19s which are the Michelin Pilots. I run the Pirelli SottoZero's on my W212 and they are phenomenal, would love to purchase a set of those for the W213 but not sure if they even make them or not.

I am also planning to use Perilli Sottozero Serie II winter tires like @HBerman - only because I already have a pair of 265/35R20 from my previous car (which I will put on the front). I am a bit conflicted about what size to put on the rear though. Options would be as follows (with comments/questions):
265/35R20 - square set-up and will fit rear rim size, but the back might look too slim...?
275/30R20 - ideal width, but will side-wall be too small?
285/35R20 - ideal width also, but will side-wall be too big?
295/30R20 - OEM tire size but may be too wide for winter use given not much weight on rear axle, like a Porsche would have.
Tire/wheel experts - your thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.

weather forecasters are predicting a fairly mild winter for southern Ontario this yr. So, you are ok to go for the look (wider choice)

No need to re-visit this topic with more info. There are at least two to three seemingly endless threads dedicated to this topic from last year with all kinds of good info.

+1 agree. At least tirerack has choices now .... when I was looking last year (at around late October/early November), they have virtually no choices for wheels as our car was deemed too new and tirerack has not fully tested their wheels for proper fitment clearance. There were a few forum members here who eventually did get a winter package from them in the end.

I have a brand new set of Pirelli Winter Sottozero 295/30R20 I bought for my F10 M5 I will sell for $400 total. Bought them one week ago and now I just sold the car.
Tirerack lists for around $420/tire so you can get new for less than 50%.
