Front Brake Squeak

My left front brake squeaks. When I took it to the dealer I was told it is a result of the high performance brakes (not ceramic).

What are your thoughts?

Google brake bedding.

There are a bazillian hits on it.

Basically, on a road that's safe and where there isn't much traffic, do some light brake applications initially to warm the brake system. Then do a series of hard brake applications spaced over an interval to increase brake temp to the point where old accumulated brake resin is burned off the rotors and then a nice new smooth layer is laid down.

Then the brakes are cooled and you're hopefully back in business.

Problem is that a lot of people don't use their brakes hard enough and crap accumulates.

Had to do it with my motorhome after I got it as the previous owner had used the exhaust brake too much and never really got the wheel brakes hot enough regularly.

Had to do this with my new road bike too... When the brakes squeak, it is due to contaminants. On the bike it is easy to resolve by cleaning the rotor with rubbing alcohol.

Very nice bike, what is the frame made of? I still am using rim brakes with metal braking surface on my Cervelo.

Not sure I agree with the need to brake hard. I have owned many cars over the years and never an issue.
If anything I stop harder with the AMG because of speed and ability.

Custom Ti frame... lightest Ti frame made... ridden by a pig. Disc brakes on only way to go for carbon rims IMO. Can fit wider tires too for gravel road days.
And I agree: unless you have the CCB on your car, I have never needed to bed the brakes. I don't track my cars though.
