Signed up for Pro at Road Atlanta in May. I did the Pro at COTA in 2014, had a blast. Near the end they let us do free lapping and going to the Skidpad. A couple of people had to leave near the end to catch flights so I ended up on the skidpad by myself for 30 minutes. Melted the tires of a C63 down to cords coming loose, instructor relaxing on the side to keep watch just told me to go get another car and come back. Was awesome. I’d do the Pro+ but you have to have done an Advanced or Pro within 18 months of the event.

Laguna Seca was fun. The lap with a Pro driver at the conclusion of the day was the highlight for me.
Downside was traffic jams when we were out on the track. Too many classes with too many vehicles of different speeds at the same time. Always seemed to be waiting for someone to get out of the way or pulling over to let another group pass. Didn't seem like we got to string a set of good laps together.

Super excited! I did the Advanced in October at Laguna Seca. It was a lot of fun, but the lead/follow was only about 85%. I got the fastest lap in the Auto-X competition which was crazy cool. I have quite a bit of track time and think I want to sign up for the April Pro+ class at COTA. Also, I live here in Austin so the convenience and not having to pay for air and hotel will help stomach the $6K!

I was lucky to be in a fast group and our main instructor loved being able to open the pace up.
As for location? I live in Austin so I get a lot of chances to be on COTA so Laguna Seca seemed like the logical choice. My thought was that I may never get another chance to be on that track so. However, I’m going to do the Pro+ here at COTA.

Ah. Got it.
For or anyone who has done the performance class, how long does the class usually run? It says online around 5:30. I probably have to leave for the airport around 430-445. Will I miss anything good?

No, but there are multiple groups within the AMG Experience and other groups may also be on the track doing a different exercise that might be slower. We passed the E63 while in the GTR a couple of times.

Hope to see you at COTA!

Yes, I remember you! And of course I remember Adam. Are you planning on doing an additional class at COTA? I spoke with Doug and Ramin from our group who said they could possibly be interested in trying to get in the same class again. Take care!
