E63S vs M5 Comp Race

The results seem pretty reliable but I do question the method of locking both cars in 3rd gear instead of putting both cars in their “proper” gear in the rolling race. It seemed pretty obvious the 8spd wasn’t in the power band like the 9spd.

which means the E63 S would have lost by a mildly even large margin on the rolling race?

There are guys running silly 10.3X's at 136.XX (race gas, piggy, intake only) now on the F90- a very nice moddable platform.

One thing to mention regarding the braking test .. unless we can guarantee identical temperature of the rotors, such comparison is inaccurate.

That’s very true but the E has lost just about every single braking comparo to date so there’s not much reason to doubt this one.

You are right, the E63S has more tq in that starting gear so the roller isnt ideal but then truly the only ideal comparison is the same car against each other I guess. Drivers race for sure and whoever gets the jump in the real world.

Hard to say since there is no piggy (reputable) that I know of for the E63S but if Im a betting man, its not going to be close.
Modded Turbo E63S's with tunes (true bench flashes) and down pipes arent pulling these times.

I was under the impression that JB4 was available for the C63S engine so it should also be available for the E63S?

I did tune my E63S in November of 17 with OE tuning; he has been my Benz tuner since 2003. It was a beta tune but it wasnt half bad. Did I get the gains I got on my M157 cars? Hell NO. But then again, OE is more on the conservative side and allows for good daily use of hp/tq gains thru the usable rpm ranges.

Would you be able to comment on how OE Tuning's offering (http://www.oetuning.com/products/mer...benz-e63s-w213 I believe, right?) compares to DME Tuning's offering? https://dmetuning.com/products/mercedes-e63s-2018

Did you consider changing the intake/downpipes?

MuffinFlavored-DME has tuned an E63S and made 656 whp/712 wtq on 93 pump gas. Should check them out if they are close to you for sure. If they are not i would consider EC as they made 647whp/734wtq on pump gas as well. Either way cant go wrong.

A good friend of mine went all out with his E63 amg S, his merc is pushing over 800+ HP. Not even done yet which is insane. There is alot you can do now as far as tuning and getting parts for it now.
