2019 E63 S feeling... slow?

I picked up my car late November. It's really weird, every once in a while it feels like a freaking rocket! But about 60% of the time I'll step on it and wonder what's going wrong. Always in sport+ mode with the a/c off. Has anyone else experienced this?

Try Shifting the gears you're sells. If you're not in the boost and in the right place in the throttle band then that could be it. Cars these days always hunt higher gears even in sports+ if you haven't given it some gas in sometime.

It for sure has a... turbo laggy feeling down low sometimes.

I've noticed the same thing on my 2018 wagon and it only seems to happen when I'm trying to impress the passenger. One theory is if you just did a manual gear change and then floor it, it would not kick down correctly.

Could it be that we are pretty well have gotten used to the power output already (while our butt dyno is expecting more) I have certainly felt this way this past few months too

I can only assume it is that, I’m actually going to get mine tuned after it’s first service!

Sounds like a loose hose. Maybe the exhaust waste gate hydraulics.

BTW I had this issue and it was a bizarre root cause.

The radar detector equipment had come loose and the wires were moving around and sometimes falling on the arms of the throttle and brake pedals, which was causing light occasional light application of brake pressure depending on where the wires fell while applying the throttle and causing lag. The dealer quickly diagnosed the issue, relocated the radar detector wiring and securely tied it up. Problem solved.

This helps dramatically. The power up top is much more aggressive (from what I've heard ).

I personally get afraid driving this car. It's "lose your license" material just... so quickly. You don't even feel it. I kind of wonder if highway patrol could keep up?

Nice! I’m going to get my first service done and then getting the MSL guys in the UK to do it, they have an amazing reputation and as seen in another thread, some pretty good results.

I'm probably being dramatically over-simplistic but I have a strong feeling that pretty much every tuning company that is currently around does nearly the same things for a stage 1 tune. At a high level, the power increase results seem about the same across the board.

I haven’t seen many proven tunes in the UK, the MSL guys posted their recent project results which were pretty good, but as you say, I haven’t compared to others and I’m sure others are good as well.

iIt’s not as big a market in the UK as it is in the US and for me, I like to know the people I use have a lot of experience and proven results.

There have been hose associated boost issues, agreed

you may have a legit mechanical problem

Thanks everyone for the input! I'm going to get my 1,800 mile fluids changed in about 2-3 weeks.

I'm having them put on the MPS4S's I just received and have them check into the hose issue. These Pirelli's have got to go. They're brand new so they're not that bad yet. My previous car came with them and I started hydroplaning at 45mph after about 4k miles on them. I don't want to experience that again.

I did find that when I manually downshift about 2 gears before punching it, my passengers grab the "oh sh*t" handle a little tighter. Lol

Also, I'm about 45 minutes south of Stuart, FL. I contacted Renntech about tuning my MY 2019 and they said they're about 6 weeks away from finishing development for this model year. I guess there's minor differences in the software? I'll create a post reviewing the tune via butt dyno after.

Big difference in power between warm days and colder /higher barometric pressure days; if that is what your feeling.

My complaint is that when you step on it to pass, it goes but when you take your foot off the pedal a long pause at 4000 rpm before up shifting.
