Not everyone has an installer, and shipping is around 80 bucks If you ship to home... I also had OBO in the post as I am open to offers on my NEW tires

Thank you, don't follow the installer mention, you will need to install new or new/used?

I thought MB went with Michelin tires or at the very least they are superior.

If you do not mind, please share the shipping service you're planning to use to get $80 shipped...I just shipped one donut tire (without a wheel) less than 1/2 weight of one of the above tires, charge by FedEx was $42!!!

I was referencing tirerack. They will ship to an installer for free, and quoted 80 to 100 bucks for shipping depending on zip.

Tires generally are 40 each to ship ups. (For non account customers)

BS...TireRack ships for free regardless if it goes to customer's home or to the installer of customer's choice. 295/30-20 tire will be at least $60 each to ship from Chicago say to San Diego or Miami. So your shipped price will be as much as $300 more than from the TireRack. Why would anyone buy it for $300 more than from TireRack? Why would anyone buy it even for the same price, when one can buy it from TireRack with 2 year road hazard warranty included free and with ability to return if needed? This is internet in 2019. There are no idiots here.

Already have them on the car... 265 40 19 Pilot Alpin 5s.

I just want to get a fair market value for new tires so I can buy Michelin PSC2

Will most shops install used tires? I know I tired a while back and no one would touch them (Costco, Discount Tire Store, nor NTB).

MuffinFlavored 01-17-2019 07:15 PM

What dimensions and weight would you enter when making a UPS/USPS label? I know they can ship not surrounded by a box.

For example 295/30-20, it is 27x27x12 and 29lbs. However, it is so called "irregular" package exactly because it is not in a box. There is a surcharge because of that for UPS/FedEx plus additional residential surcharge unless shipped to commercial address. USPS requires "girth", which is 78". Try pitting those numbers in, and if you're far from Chicago, I would be doing it sitting down because you'll be shocked by costs. Unless one is a business dealing with wheels/tires to get "special" rates, like TireRack has, retail shipping costs (forget about having an account - it saves next to nothing on oversized items) are prohibitive. I remember there was (maybe still is) a large retail store saying "educated consumer is our best customer". Unless one picks these tires up, shipping them makes zero sense.

Keep them for summer? Only a fool is going to pay $300 each for them plus shipping I guess?
