$1,000 for vehicle emission test program
I got a letter from MBUSA that they'd like to borrow my E63S for a couple of weeks, put a couple of hundred miles on it on the dynamometer, and they'll pick up and return it. I get a $1,000 Visa card. I'm not using my car right now due to snow & cold, so I a seriously considering this offer.
The letter reads: During our program, we will test the gases emitted from your vehicle while operating it at regular speeds for typically 200 miles or less. Anyone else ever seen this? |
I did it a few years ago when I had my CLS63. They picked up my car from home and dropped off a nice new S class coupe as my loaner. They returned my CLS promptly after two weeks and sent me a $1,000.00 Visa gift card.
As long as you don't mind having a stranger drive your car, there is minimal downside. |

The only question in my mind is how hard do they dyno it?
|
If I recall correctly, it was to check how their hardware and software was handling emissions. I think they do run it on a dyno but they are not doing any WOT pulls.
|
Maybe they're just looking for some empirical data to back up the OBDC port info. That way they can show CARB and DOT that they're not pulling a VW . . .
|
As long as they don't give it a stress test like this guy did to a S63 .....warning, not for the squeemish...lol

One wonders where the police were all this time while that was going on? Given the use of a golf club, guessing it must have been the car the wife got in the divorce . . .

How was he able to put those holes in the doors so easily with just a golf club?

Did you sign up for this - or did they contact you randomly?
Hmmm. I'd be down for this on my E53.... |
