Remote parking pilot?
Question to the non-U.S. E63 owners.
Is remote parking pilot enabled on your cars? This is the ability to get out of the car and through the phone app have the car go park itself.
I'm in Geneva this week and was talking with one of my counterparts who lives in Germany. They mentioned that their 7 series BMW does this and I got bummed out all over again.
There have been relatively few times I've needed or wanted to be able to remotely park/unpark the car, but as in the case of the intelligent LED lighting am wishing they would enable those features in the U.S.

I love Geneva... was there last year with the E63S wagon on the FD roadtrip... better days for me.
Agreed: for the few times you need it, something like remote park would be great, and should be possible on the W213 with the right software.
Safe travels.

It finally started working on my car after 11 months..
It doesn't park in tight spaces, it doesn't park in steep places (has to be almost flat..)
It's mostly just a funny feature.

We were on family vacation last week in Italy, parked the car at the station in Venice, and the spots are so tight that I had to climb out the window. Rental car, or course, but still crazy.

I would never park that close, but as I posted last year, came out of the coffee shop to find that someone had parked next to me so tight that there was no getting in the driver's side door. I would have had to use the passenger door and climb over the console. Had to wait the woman came out with her latte for her to move the car. She was of course clueless as to what she'd done and only slightly embarrassed.
That's one of the times I could have used it. Thankfully I have enough garage space so thats not a problem either at home.
Mainly, it's just one of those things that we haven't gotten yet in the U.S. that I want - just because ;-)

I haven't been able to test it because I have android 8 and stupid MB has not updated their apps to up to date OS.

Just cause it was promoted in their videos and I want it. Whether I use it or not is up to me.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
I don't care how basic it is as long as it can just back the car out of a parking spot in a straight line it would be really helpful. I need to open the door wide to get my wheelchair in the backseat. The Cabriolet has very long doors. It is very easy to get blocked in. I just wish they would release this feature in the USA.

BMW's version of this works in the US (at least in the M760i, not sure about other models).

Doubt that's what the email is for, but on a different note, has anyone been able to get their car to autopark itself backwards? I can't seem to get my car to want to back in, only go in forwards.

I've only been able to get it to find perpendicular parking spaces once - not that I've tried a lot - but cancelled the operation before actually parking in a spot.
Used the parallel parking feature a lot in Europe.

Reading these comments, are you guys mixing up park assist with the Remote Park Package?
This Remote parking is not included in any car AFAIK and costs around 1800 Euro so I would be surprised people buying it and not trying it out. Having the car completely controlled via smart phone app (nobody in the car) the main purpose is tight parking. And this will park so close you couldn't get out of the car.
This package is not available in the US, Canada or the UK (at least not for the E63)...

This is a specific hardware module in the car similar to using the phone as a car key (completely keyless)

Hi All, how to know if I have the remote parking pilot feature in my 2018 S-450 or not, I downloaded the APP to my iPhone but the car is missing the menu, not sure if it is disabled or the hardware is missing.

Some of you knowledgable guys / moderators out there on this topic - anyone know if this feature can work in our region?
Just discovered this car could have it and yes just cos its possible I want it!
(Currently car E220d all terrain regd in aus but abt to ship it to NZ where we dont get this wagon - or for that matter any MBwagons since a year or so!! How inconsiderate to all our families and businesses wanting wagons with deep and roomy boots. )
Anyway how do we fox it to get this working. Anyone want to share their app ? Or is it working in some aus E class? Appreciate an update if tou reaaly know about it. Thx Greg
