Mercedes Me app= Trash

The app rarely ever works. I have only been able to start my car like 25% of the time. Never works when I am about to leave work and now its not starting the car even when I am at home.
Mercedes need to get their **** together. Still waiting on AMG track pace for the US market cars too.

Track Pace does not work with E63 in any region

I guess it is hit or miss. Works 99% of the time for me.

When I spoke with AMG, they said they pulled out the app from the market store to make huge improvements so it works with the newer cars. They said they are waiting on approval for it now. Who knows how long it will take for that.

The same here about remote start from the app. Last morning when I've been brushing my teeth I've tried to start the car, it's started, but app been showing it's sending the signal, then I noticed the car has started but 1 minute later app shown me there an error has occurred while sending the signal and the car stopped working :wall:

What do you mean still waiting for track pace? You don't have it or what?

We dont have it in the US anymore. They pulled it out from the app store and started working on the app again, they said they finished with the app but still waiting on getting approval from Apple and other market app stores to approve it.

Oh, okay, I did not know there was an app for mobile devices LMAO

That's why they should be very fearful of Tesla. They are a technology company first and a car company second. Their stuff works and most importantly they are constantly updating their software. Updates are over the air and often you are not aware when these will come. Last night my wife's car had an update and one of the updates was their Sentry mode in which the cameras activate and record any intrusion into the car with the built in cameras. Amazing stuff. By the way their remote start works most of the time vs the other way around. Also you can potentially operate and drive the car just by the app without a key. That is the future my friends.

100% agree. Mercedes does tech very poorly and moves way too slowly. On the other hand Tesla does luxury very poorly. If Mercedes could become more of a tech company or Tesla could become more of a luxury car company, I'd have a perfect car. :D

VPC_E63S 03-14-2019 09:32 PM

I would say it works 1/3 of the time via Alexa and then about 2/3rds via the actual app. But craps out a lot of time. 2019 E63s.

more like a marketing company first if they move consumers to parrot this kind of rhetoric

Yes the app does stink and is wortless. I was hoping it got better in the 2019's with the newer software so that is disappointing to hear that you are having trouble too.

I dare you to drive it on a spur of the moment trip.........or even any long trip and not worry. Range anxiety? They have a very long way to go.
Although I do like their approach of being able order and buy direct from the manufacturer.

The company you are describing you want sounds a bit like BMW or Audi.

335X-ray 03-18-2019 08:16 AM

Totally agree. Mine has started like 3 times since I have owned the car since January. My Ford Raptor started every time with the app OR the damn key fob. Mercedes needs to get their head out of their fundamental orifice. People who spend this much money on a car want things to work. Every time. If Ford and Kia can figure it out, it isn't rocket science.

V70cat 03-18-2019 08:23 AM

I don't use it much but it works at home, sometimes slow but it does work.

kcjonz 03-18-2019 11:21 AM

Odd.... I've never had mine not work. Its notifies me if I leave my car unlocked pretty quickly click the notification and it locks the car without even going into the main app.

The app notifies me as well, but it takes forever to lock the car, unlock the car and even start it. At times it wont even do any of those things.

Mine's usually pretty quick under 30 sec or so, but it does take longer sometimes depending on cellular coverage.

I was thinking the issue might be cellular coverage. But I am not able to test it out since I dont know anyone else on the forum who might live around me to test it out.

Same here, always works.

VPC_E63S 03-20-2019 05:22 PM

FWIW, they just updated the iOS version of the app; perhaps it will fix some of these bugs.

Question, I have a U.S. Spec'd vehicle in Germany. I tried the AP but it does not seem to work. I created a U.S. account thinking that might work because the car is U.S... (but I think I I got stuck when he ap said I have to choose my dealer to activate my account). Then I created a German account thinking that was the ticket because the car is in Germany but that does not work either and my sale rep thinks the ap will only work with a U.S. car when the car is in the U.S.? Does this sound correct? Seems this should just be a software issue.. Thanks!

E634Me 03-21-2019 04:05 PM

I did European delivery last year of a US spec car. All the various US features are disabled until you get to the States. Further, while in Europe, the features normally available to a Euro spec car are not enabled either. So, you have the least of both worlds.

Once the car was delivered in the States everything was enabled OK at the VPC and at the dealer when I took delivery of the car in the US.

VPC_E63S 03-27-2019 09:22 AM

This morning I used the Alexa app to remotely start the car and received a new response. Something along the lines of, "your request has been successfully received by your AMG E." So seems like that app has been updated. Then I went outside and the car had not been started. Drove to work and now the app cannot connect at all to MercedesMe. So seems like things are getting worse rather than better!
