Is Weistec w4 even worth it?
I was reading one of the old thread where people weee saying that even with 900-1000 HP from W4, people were still getting 10.5 - 10.8s on the quarter mile? (Not sure how true this is, if anyone has gotten better times please post).
What does the W3 turbo kit get you on the quarter mile and 0 - 60 compared to W4?

Seems like the Pure Turbo would be the path I would take due to cost. I think the limiting factor is the tranny and how it hinders getting the power to the ground. For hwy power and if you don't drag race, it's probably worth while but, again and like you said, probably not the choice if you want to be a 1/4 mile king. For that, there are better platforms.

as far as 1/4ET there are diminishing returns with increasing horsepower because the higher horsepower does not improve our launch. But the horsepower will correlate with trap speed.
with a 1.8x 60', typical for w212 e63 4matic, it is very hard to go under 10.5 even with 1000+ hp. The quarter-mile is crossed early in 5th gear which doesn't help.
1000 hp corresponds to trap speed ~140mph for e63
900 hp ~136-137 mph. for e63. Less power needed for C63 to reach these trap speeds.
If you want to know if the car is making the advertised power look at the Trap speed or 60-130. There is very little customer information available re 1/4 mile for turbo upgraded e63.

If any tuner claiming 900 or 1000 horsepower is putting down those numbers on the road on a full weight e63 then those claims are legit, and vice versa.

For many upgraded turbos unfortunately no improvement over stock. As far as horsepower, 900 horsepower should get you ~6.2s 60-130, 1000 horsepower ~5.7s.

what do you mean upgraded turbos = no improvement over stock?

Factory Turbo with tune and exhaust trap ~127mph, some vendors show 129 on their ads.
Most of the turbo upgraded e63s are trapping the same unfortunately. For the most part using Factory housing with upgraded wheels and journal bearings have been a huge fail when you consider the work required to r&r the motor and the months most people have had to wait to get their turbos redone, and the lack of measurable power gain on the road. Factory housing with wheel swaps have produced gains on other platforms but not on ours.
W4 will perform better, it is not a modified oem turbo, but I'm surprised we have not seen track numbers yet for the E63.

on the dyno they are able to push more power up top, but lower down low due to increased spool
that really makes for 0mph trap increase? that sucks! 750whp should be trapping higher than 127mph... no?

im sure w4 will trap 130s on e63, hopefully somebody will post a slip
as for the turbo upgrades that are not showing any performance increase their horsepower numbers are exaggerated.
