2019 E63s vs a Tesla P100D
On a day to day daily driver
Acceleration....Tesla wins hand down
Handling.....E63s wins hands down
How much of the acceleration can make up for the lack of handling in the Tesla over the E63s? I am not talking gas very electric here, I am trying to discuss comfort with insane acceleration vs stiff with ridiculous handling

If you happen to do a pull from say 80 mph (not an uncommon speed on our interstate here) to something higher the Tesla is going to peter out much more quickly.
I looked at them pretty closely before going with the E63S. Build quality isn't there. Compared notes with one of my co-workers about the self driving. Tesla seems to have all the same quirks my Distronic has. Only plus is that they get the remote parking assist where you can summon or put the car away from outside the vehicle, which Mercedes has, but hasn't turned on in the States yet.
Funny thing is that the Tesla can open the garage door itself, drive in, then close the door. My friend's car opened the door, drove par way in and then closed the door on itself. He was watching and thankfully was able to stop the door before it came down on the car - must not have his height adjusted right for the door sensors for the garage as I'd have thought those would have kept the door from coming down.
Anyway, Tesla folks love their cars for sure, but it was not the right car for me just yet, and I really wanted one because I have solar at home and it would be basically free to drive. I don't go on long trips so mileage wasn't a worry either. Happy I made the choice for the E63S.

Have several friends with 100D's (not *****) and on spirited freeway runs, the car only has a few hard pulls before reverse viagara mode rolls in.
I know its not exactly what you asked for but if you are running rollers its gonna end after a few runs. Comfort vs handling, subjective and I personally would take the minimal yaw of the E63s married with sound even though its a few clicks slower out of the gate.

Range anxiety with electric cars is a non issue as far as I am concerned. It is all about planning. I have experienced range issues with petrol cars too, and 400 miles range significantly exceeds what you will ever get out of an E63S. That said E63S will get better with the hybrid refresh next year.
I suspect that is true for most people unless they're doing a long trip for a vacation to visit family out of state or something like that.
Just passed 12,000 miles on my E63S, most of that was done in the first year - about 5,000 miles in the first three months. Break-in/vacation in Europe, then coast-to-coast drive from MD to San Diego. That's the only time when the mileage limit would have been an issue. Other than that, I'm typically putting about 5,000 miles a year or so on my daily driver and the rest is sprinkled around my other cars.
Even if someone is doing a 30 mile each way trip to work every day, odds are they're either plugging in at work or at home over night. You could even miss a few days and still have range.
So, I think the current range limitation is fine for most in reality.
I am a software engineer and look at screens all day, last thing I want is get in the car and look at another monitor regardless of how nice it is. For me I like what mercedes has done with the screen in the E-class. That looks as rightly done as I really want. I dont desire anything bigger. Ferrari has nice dash with the side screen for passenger too. I don't want to look at middle of the dash for everything. Thats all. I love the V8 character in these AMGs too. I could get used to an electric SUV much more easily though. Model-X might be in my future.

The second day, found out my aggressive driving (can't help myself, just my vice) reduced the effective range to less then half, contributing to "range anxiety" the subconscious fear of getting stranded on the road, also the performance was visibly declining.
On the 3rd day started to hate the thing and couldn't wait to return it.
Went into it with an open mind but realized quickly the technology is still not there yet, will give it another try with Taycan.

To be fair, the E53 is already hybrid and is in the W213 chassis.

The E is the power sedan for MB just like the M5 is for BMW and RS6 for Audi.
So this model will get power upgrades to become the fastest on the block.
