Dyno question

(A little back ground. I'm in Upstate SC and I know very little to nothing about a dyno. I just think it will be neat to try out and see what the car actually produces in power.)
Thanks!
there are two major brands of dynos: dynojet and mustang
i’m pretty sure they both are known to give different numbers and can’t compare one mustang dyno to another mustang dyno, or a dynojet to mustang and vice versa
am i wrong?

Use the dyno as a measuring tool for you car. There will always be arguments when you try to compare dyno number with other cars / shop etc etc.
Use draggy to verify the dyno results.
i wonder if dragy sales started to hurt dyno sales? :P

When I see dyno numbers, I always think "ok, so that means the car with ABC power can go XYZ fast"
Why would I waste my time on a dyno (since it is all just approximate and most of them will give you varying results) if I can just go see the power of my vehicle *applied* on the streets?
More power, faster car, better dragy times. Higher number on a dyno, supposedly faster car, maybe better dragy times?
