Renntech ECU tune experience

Installed on my 2019 E63S. Took 3 minutes. Have switched back to stock and then back to modded several times without issue. Sounds great with the tune too, more pops and growling.

Strong all over all rpms. Biggest gain is at lower rpms, the car pulls like a beast. Feels stronger even at 6000rpm. I believe the 773hp quote. Will post some 0-60 times when I can.

Installing the exhaust control module this weekend.

800 watt amp with sub added at the same time as the ECU tune. Car really is turning in to the Deathstar. What a machine.

My humble $0.02

What did you pay for the mapping module?? spoke to a tuner over here about the cpc limiter removal which they can do buy the way! he said the BHP on the E63 and C63 from the factory are so varied its unbelievable!! 773bhp is a nice number from just a map

I would really like to do the tune but negating the warranty always holds me back. I was wondering though, do you think the cpu will eventually get corrupted from too many back and forth maps? Reason I ask is that I read that Tesla's constant through the air updates causes the chip to become corrupted over time and the vehicle will literally stop running. Of course, that chip is seeing a lot more updating than the cpu in our cars would so it may be a non-issue.

there are many MB dealers who are certified Renntech dealers. if they do the work, it won't void your warranty (get it in writing).
you pay more, but you keep the warranty. (this is true for the dealer near me in Texas, USA)

I was told the same thing per MB North Houston, my car got a Status R a year and half later. Every repair above $1000 in value had to have a regional AMG rep approve

I was told by Renntech that the tune does not leave a footprint so they will never know if you go back to stock when you take it in for service.

I've seen tuners for other vehicles also make the claim that their tune ican be removed without any evidence it was ever done. They seem to get indignant or quiet when it comes to offering full warranty coverage if the mfgr refuses to cover it because it was tuned.

I am thinking of going the same route with the tune and the exhaust control module I am curious to know if there is a significant sound difference with both installed . Please let me know Much appreciated.

I did exactly that. The HHT RENNTECH Tune and RENNTECH EVM. Worth every penny. More sound, more power early in the RPM range all with the reliability of RENNTECH. 2 min install for the HHT, 1 hour install with the EVM. Takes some time to properly route both wires under the car and zip tie properly.
Installing the VTA's later today. The only thing i did not go with is the suspension module, for the E63 I think it sits just right and I don't want to have the stress of uneven tire wear and have another thing to keep adjusting

That's a nice setup. Renntech always produces great products keeping the oem longevity and reliability in mind. My friends W213 Renntech tuned car runs very strong and consistent, consistency being key, as his old tuned seem to run good on some days, and feel slow on other days. That where good tuning steps up! My renntech W212 has always run strong and great aswell.

I just installed the Renntech HHT as well. Much quicker throttle response. Feels alot stronger. Well worth it to me,, especially when it was only $2800 shipped on Cyber Monday. Here's a question though, Renntech doesn't have the CPC tune. Weistec just started to offer the CPC tune for our cars. Does it make a difference if u have one tuners ecu tune and another tuners CPC tune? Thanks in advance.

2 Second Club... I like that!
I went with the Renntech exhaust module to be able to control the valves. I looked at the CPC tune from Wiestec but I just thought that was overkill because the car is almost too fast already with a Renntech HHT. Nothing against Wiestec but I have heard a few issues with their ECU tunes causing errors. Over 750hp is more than enough power for the street and track (unless you are doing drag racing). I want to feel piece of mind that my transmission and differential will be safe for the long haul. I only want to worry about replacing spark plugs a bit earlier because of a tune and nothing else. My 2cents for owning a 2second car.

I agree, a few things to discuss here, a CPC tune helps release more tq, this usually helps and sees improvements in the lower gears mostly, that is where most people will see most improvement, on a roll of course, where tq is less of a factor, gains are less.
This brings about a few other issues, traction, most guys spin and get loose without a tuned cpc, a tuned cpc makes this even worse with the extra tq of course.
CPC TQ limits, Most customers dont ask what the stock TQ limits are per gear, and they dont ask what they are being set to with the tuned CPC.
Some companies are setting the tq limits on their CPC very aggressive, this can cause reliability issues down the road and even damage to the drivetrain. So please, ask questions and be safe.
