RENNtech ECU+ Upgrade
Anyone have experience with this? I'm itching for a new car but since there is no new wagon on the horizon I'm thinking of tuning my 2018 E63 instead.
I looked at porsche sport turismo but it just doesn't have the same wagon feel, beautiful as it is.
I have a MB warranty through 2025 so would presumably put that at risk.
But not sure I can stop myself trying something!
Don't think I would go as far as the full stage 1 upgrade.

i have a 2018 and have used the Renntech hand held on it since i got it. i have been in the dealer many times. my local dealer is/was a renntech dealer and they told me to go buy direct vs them. i have had NO major issues and honored all my warranty stuff. they knew i had the Renntech tuner on it. i always flashed it back to stock before bringing to dealer. This is my case, and others have reported that the dealer might not honor warranty if you have a major failure (all my stuff was minor and common).
i will say, it gives a small boost in response and power, but really, its not that much. i think my wagon on a track on same day went from 11.35 second runs to like 11.15 to 11.20 runs in the quarter mile. it does feel a bit more responsive, but true track times were not that different in my case.
my warranty is now expired, so likely will do more substantial tuning/upgrades in future

Geez... Renntech tune such a ripoff. You can get much more power out of a stage 1 tune from almost any of the other major tuners... For a fraction of the price, I might add haha.
And FYI no stage 1 tune from a reputable tuner will cause engine issues.
