2022 E53 AMG Mode tested with Race Box

I added Race Mode and Multibeam headlamps to the car. I could tell the Race Mode had a different engine and transmission response. From a roll, through the gears, to redline, it stayed in lower gears always remaining in the power band. It also make more of the exhaust 'cracking and popping' sound on deceleration. There is a difference when driving, as the car is not worried about gear it's in. It stays in the power band. I do not know if this removes the top speed limiter. I do not know if it changes and suspension dynamics. I do not know if it completely send all the power to the rear wheels or if its heavily biased rear wheel. Maybe an expert can step in and tell us.

So, what are the actual 0-60 mph times, for my car in each mode? Do the modes make a difference? The results surprised me and I honestly would have lost money on a bet on the results.

To start with, I tried to keep the test as close to the same for each run. I started with a straight, flat, no traffic private road, that would allow me to run 1/4 and 0-60. My focus was on 0-60, although I ran one 1/4 mile.

If you're not familiar with RACEBOX, it's a battery powered track and drag timer that allows downloads to phone, cloud and computer.

I ran 0-60 in RACE / SPORT+ / SPORT / COMFORT / SLIPPERY MODES. I
Th car had 1/2 tank of gas. I was showing 2838 feet above sea level. The temp was 73 degrees and the humidity was in the 70s. I was running 92 octane gas. The runs were with TRACTION OFF, holding my foot on the brake, revving to 3000 rpm (all it will allow) and removing my foot from the brake. I allowed the car to shift.

For the TLDR in the group, the simple answer to the question is, there is NO 0-60 mph time differences in modes.

My best 0-60 run was in COMFORT MODE @ 4.24. But the worst was 4.28. The average was 4.27. I could continue to record runs and end up with 4.2x each time. The determining factor was the slight wheel spin at launch. The COMFORT MODE hooked up the quickest. I tried running a RACE MODE with TRACTION ON and I consistently got 4.44 +/-. Take it for what it's worth, but I can choose any mode with my car, take traction off, hold the brake, rev and go and I'll get a 4.2x time at this altitude. I am sure I could probably get under 4.2x a lower altitude and 94 octane race on a drag track.

As far as 1/4 mile goes. I ran one run (really not trying) @ 13.03 second w a trap of 106.9 mph. I am positive I would break in to 12.8x range. Even more at sea level.

Below are the screen shots of runs.

I am surprised that the modes only real effect is when rolling. It appears that from a start and under full throttle my car had maximum hp/tq going to the wheels no matter what the mode.
