E63S emissions monitors not setting
Took my 2018 E 63S in for emissions after buying the car a couple months ago. The emissions inspector told me that there were two readiness sensors, not setting. They were the oxygen sensor and the heated oxygen sensor.
Has anyone had this issue with their E 63?
I am starting to wonder if the dealer sold me a tuned car without letting me know, which would be a big issue, considering that they CPO’d it.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had an issue like this with a VW GTI. Car has to be driven and warmed up ALOT before getting it inspected. I failed twice before learning from the forums you need about 20 miles to get the sensors ready and awake. Maybe your problem.

Turns out the car has a stage 1 tune from DME on it from the previous owner. Dealership was really cool, sales director knew the previous owner and the guy dropped off the OBD genius dongle for me to switch between programs.
I thought this thing was a little too peppy to be stock.
Was very surprised and pleased at that outcome. Will definitely think about buying another car from them in the future.

I didn't think a tune would disable any emission sensors. Also does it have a new CPC? If not and you have a tune alone and the power difference is noticeable why are all these vendors so eager to sell CPC with the tune? I understand the CPC unlocks the big power numbers but I don't want to tax the car with 800hp. I want something conservative but every vendor I deal with says ECU tune alone won’t be noticed.

If not and you have a tune alone and the power difference is noticeable why are all these vendors so eager to sell CPC with the tune? I understand the CPC unlocks the big power numbers but I don't want to tax the car with 800hp. I want something conservative but every vendor I deal with says ECU tune alone won’t be noticed.
Apparently you can squeeze 30 extra HP running a stage 2 file as opposed to a stage 1 file which is what some people do.
I haven’t really edified myself on all the different combinations of tuning etc, nor does it really interest me. Car is wicked fast and the trans seems responsive enough, although I’m not really impressed with the gearbox.
I’ll be able to report back on Monday with what’s going on after I get some files pulled.

I honestly have no idea if it has CPC, I’ll have to work with DME on that when we start pulling files and it gets on the dyno.

Wanted to follow up with you here. The car never got flagged by Mercedes scanning tools. So I'll just de-tune the car before any warranty work. All maintenance is done at an indy.
So I'm guessing if you can flash back to stock before a warranty claim, and if Mercedes doesn't look too hard, they won't find anything in the ECU. I know they CAN usually tell if a car is tuned, but at this point the dealer and I have a gentleman's agreement. I don't think they would renege, especially since I have a UPS overnight parcel with a tune in it from their address lol.
