Daily driving a E63

Many, many thousands! I wish I had met you a month ago! What does it mean to turn the rotors? They just take grooves out? I went through main Mercedes dealer who charged absolutely full freight. I didn’t have time to do a ton of research but I should have clearly.

I DD my 2019. About 60 miles on the highway every day. Just hit 30k miles on odo. I do my own oil change and pads as they are fairly simple. Stay away from CC brakes.
If you live in an area that see snow, I recommend getting a secondary wheels and snow tire setup. I honestly think you can get away with all seasons in this car all year around, even in few inches of snow, due to 4matic+. But I decided to get pirelli snow tires and aftermarket 20 inch wheels for winter and Michelin PS4S with OEM 20 inch matte black wheels for summer.
From what ive heard, you should think about paying a bit more and get 2019. Do not get 2018, full of issues.
I also learned that you can also do more codings and retrofits on 2019s, such as AMG Drive Unit, with the newer steering wheel design. 2018 steering wheel is ugly as hell, imo.
it will be difficult.to find 2019 with headup display, since for 2019, they stopped including HUD in driver assistance package.
Also look into extended warranty. I got a $100 deductible 7 yr 70k miles (additional, starting the day of warranty purchase), for less than $4k. Covers everything except wear and tears. I made sure they cover air suspension.
Learn to drive smoothly on S+ mode in stop and go, and you will have blast DDing a 600hp+ car.
I am soon going in for a Eurocharged stage 1 tune for 700+ HP.

But seriously, all I know is what I've read/researched online...seem to be a great 4 seater "coupe" option with strong performance/handling. I thin on the lighting lap list for car & driver it slotted very high up on the list. I considered it as an option before I bought another wagon, but simply can't let go of the wagon life yet...

I daily drive mine 75 miles per day and love it.
I do hate putting miles on the car though, bought it with 23,000 last July and its at 46,000 now.
_____________
I put about the same on my car 4 days a week...hate racking up the miles, but it makes me smile every time I drive it.

Daily'd my 2019 that is probably the most modified on this entire forum, 58K miles. 1000HP. Zero issues. Winters, summers, zero problems. This is the most rock solid E63 platform there has ever been.

2007 e63 - blk / blk; 2005 e55 - b silver / blk; 2000 e55 b silver / blk
I have had six e55/63’s dating back to 2000
the 2018 is the best one by far and a worthwhile step up from my 2014.
besides a few more HP (amg formula in the US when changing models - add apx 5%(469/500/518/550/577/603), the transmission is the killer upgrade. Nine speed vs seven and FINALLY, lightning quick shifts in S+. All previous models had sloppy transmissions even in S+
the other thing I insisted on was adjustable exhaust (sounds good under high revs and pops loudly on downshifts and upshifts). I agree with others though that the best sounding model was the 07 with the full 6.3 (in theory😉 and normally aspirated. The advanced distronic is a must have for me also. Whole additional layer of safety
I have the black amg honeycomb wheel upgrade also on the brilliant silver, night package, and the pano
someone asked about mileage Best mosel yet on the highway. Just drove 1000 miles. 23.7 at 75mph cruise. Not too bad for 603hp!
For entertainment , I drop several 20 mile stretches at reduced speeds on flat highway (middle Ohio at the time) to check optimal mpg. Car has 27k miles
at 70mph, 24.2mpg. At 65moh, it jumped to 27 and at 60mph 30.2mpg (although it’s hard to drive 60 in a 70 for very long!
amazing machines.

Quick update after dd my e63 since the first day I got it
Its the best car I have owned
my close friend has a hurracan and the e63 keeps up and stays
I never took it to the track
I recently got a amg gt 4 door and will be driving that way more , I think the 18 e63 is a very special and raw car
I can understand now when ppl say these are the best cars ever.

I did the same - DD a 2016 E63S and bought a 2023 GT63S (so far, 1 of 1 color combo) as the weekend car and "future proofing access to a v8 not attached to an electric motor".
The GT63 S or non-S are nuts. E63S is stupid fast. GT63 is scary fast but if you can handle an E63, you can handle a GT63. And it handles much much better than an E63, which is no slow poke in its own right.
Planning on keeping both as long as I can.

For me its the other way around
Im going to dd the gt63s and keep the e63s in the garage to be the garage queen.
Already got winter tyres and slapped them on
After extensive driving the gt63, I feel theres alot of control coming from the computers
for one its not as easy going sideways with the gt63s , with my e63s its a night and day difference on that aspect. (maybe rear wheel steering)
Its quick and verrrry comfy , you can get too take off speeds without knowing whereas my e , its comfy but you know you moving
the sound notes are kinda different , I feel mb made the burbles more subtle in the gt63, in the e, you know they there , or maybe its the cuz my windows are always up. I test drove a 23 gt63s and it was even more subtle
I feel I hit the gas station more with the gt
All in I believe these are the best cars to own for longer periods if you don't look at depreciation a lot..

W213 E63s is the 4.0L TT (M177).
The 5.5L TT (M157) is in the W212 chassis.
As for pops and burbles, yeah not all it is cracked up to be.

Anyone know if this tyre size- 295/35/20R and 265/40/20F will affect 4matic system ?
will there be any repercussions in any of the vehicle systems ?
