Link Driver Profile to Key FOB

Is there a way to link a driver profile to a specific key FOB? It would be nice if I could link my FOB to my profile so when I unlock the vehicle after my wife has driven it I don't have to squeeze in and wait until the profile choices appear on the screen for me to select. My wife is much shorter than I am.... I looked at the user manual but could not find anything. Thank you in advance. Vehicle is a 2021 E53.

My car has different default profiles for the two keys. I think this was done just as a matter of fact, where profile 1 was created while using key A, and profile 2 was created while using key B. I am not sure how to change default profiles for each key after the fact, but I am sure that functionality exists somewhere in those menus...I am also sure that you can only affect settings for the key that was used to access the car, aka the key that is in your pocket.

If you figure out that such a function exists, please post here. I believe the profile choices are supposed to identify via the driver's cell phone and configure preferences automatically. Which, as you say, does not happen until you are in the car. And, I believe, it doesn't happen at all once the 'Mercedes me' trial subscription expires.

In the Thai market, there are several Mercedes-Benz-related applications:

1. Mercedes App, Offers features like a digital key, digital extras, and more.
2. Mercedes Finance, For customers who lease or finance a car.
3. Mercedes Service, Used for scheduling service appointments.

I have been informed that all these applications will be merged into a single app in March 2025.
Currently, the Mercedes App is free to use until your warranty expires, which ranges from 3 to 8 years depending on your warranty period or package. After the warranty expires, a subscription is required to continue using the app.

Does that have anything to do with the question?

I think someone may be telling you that you shouldn't let the wife drive the car.

I have been through the manual about the seat memory function and I don't think the 2021 Mercedes have the functionality where it associates with the key fob. My Porsches have always done that and it is nice. If the spouse gets to drive the car.

My wife's 2015 Honda Odyssey has this feature, and I think the 2005 model had it as well, but don't remember now for sure.

I've noticed that the Mercedes lacks many features common in down market cars.

I understand lots of things are not standard on MB but is it at least optionable?

I had an S55 with profiles linked to the fob. I replaced it with an S65 that omitted this feature. The SA told me that Mercedes dropped it because it confused people. They got tired of service visits complaining that seat settings, etc., were randomly reset. This was one of a few features that got dropped. Another was memory setting for the rear-view mirror. That was omitted because people would force the mirror into position by hand and strip the gears. We can't have a lot of nice things because many MB owners are morons.

I guess this stays true to their best or nothing, so they don't have the best solution they decided to give us nothing by removing it : (
