Night Package Trim?

I recently purchased a 2020 E63 from a private seller who was the second owner. Love the car but the driver tail light trim is chrome - not black. I confirmed the car came with the Night Package from the factory but can’t seem to find it this trim was blacked out aftermarket or from the factory with the Night option.

Any feedback?

the guy I purchased it from is not helpful.

My car has night package (black window trim and tailpipes) and the rear taillight strip is still chrome. I believe this is always the case, if you see black rear trim it's been done aftermarket.

Night package only made the mirror caps, window trim, fender boomerangs, and exhaust tips gloss black. The door handle tops, rear strip, and emblems all (frustratingly) remained chrome. It appears your car has been wrapped matte black, and likely they wrapped those chrome pieces as well. The wrap must have simply come off the driver side part of the rear chrome strip. Good news is that, speaking from personal experience, re-wrapping that piece is easy enough to DIY, even if you've never done it before!

You could do a VIN lookup, that should show the options I think. Not sure of the code for Night Black option in 2020, but for the 2018 it was 521.

I must admit, I have heard about the night package, but I now see I don’t really know what the package is comprised of.
I thought it was mainly lighting.
But evidently it is trim package.

Yep, it's a set of cosmetic exterior packages, similar to the carbon fiber exterior packages. I know on some models there were different "levels" which blacked out different parts, like the mirror caps and splitters, not sure what the case was for the 213 specifically.

Personally I would have liked a car without it because I actually prefer the trim/pipes/mirrors not blacked out, but I wasn't about to turn down an otherwise fantastic example over it.

It's a blacked out trim package where several of the normally chrome trim items are gloss black. Gives it a much more stealthy look. In some cases not all chrome is deleted. Depends on the model and the packages available, but many will black out the rest themselves or have a professional do it.

I would have named it a stealth package.
Or a wraith package.
Much more descriptive.

It was a nice add to the Selenite Grey Magno and other CF bits I optioned out. I didn't go with full CF bling like the mirrors and rear spoiler or the engine cover, thought that was a bit too much.

The car I had on order was chrome trim zero exterior carbon. I ended up “having” to take a car with the night package and exterior carbon. It’s grown on me but I also would have been super happy with the chrome bling on the lighter High Tech Silver paint.

PS Iridium Silver is the best silver. If my car (heaven forbid) needs a re-paint it’ll be in Iridium.

The ED1 has night package but honestly. i am not a big fan of a total black-out.. I like the minimal chrome accents.

For sure aftermarket, either vinyl or plasti-dip.

Belugawagon.
I can see where you replied to this thread, but when I check the thread for your post, I can’t find it.
It’s almost like I have you on ignore.
But I know I didn’t put you on ignore.
Its the same for the thread about mods taking awhile to approve posts.
Very weird.
I would like to get to the bottom of it.
If you saw in the mod thread, I ran into some of the same problems you did.

The Night Package includes blackout trim around the windows and couple other areas, but not the trunk, door handles and badges. There is Night Package + which can be ordered with the newest cars (2020 and above), I had it in my CLA45 AMG and it covered everything, no chrome what so ever. Not sure about the trunk trim since the CLA45 does not have it (C-Class and above do).

W213 E-class did not get Night Package +. The only other option for black trim beyond the Night Package was the blacked out grill on the facelift (2021+) AMGs.
