Congrats...I am very pleased with my purchase as well..Still getting familiar with toggling thru features and settings but what an amazing car..I also am running out of patience re: break in..I always follow the guidelines regardless of whether they are really necessary..

Where do you see the details on "break in" ? I can not find it in the Owner's Manual for the 2012. On my pervious 2006 CLS there was a sticker in the window which stated for the first 1000 miles do not exceed 4500 rpm, no kickdowns and limit speeds to 85 mph. The dealer could not find anything either, but recommended that I follow the same advice for the first 1000 miles.

The detail of the build is perfection. Every line, every detail was clearly well thought out. The matte (satin) finish paint really compliments all exterior details and the interior is just as nice. I was told that there are 30 AMG performance centers in the US and that there was one car per center, but the GM at Fletcher Jones mentioned that there were only 15 of these cars.

I'm learning the electronics now but, and I really want to try out the infrared camera. I love the ECO mode and that the motor shuts off at stop lights & goes back on when I release the brake pedal.

This car reminds me of why I have always loved German cars, every (important) detail is completely thought out and developed to perfection. It feels great, smells great, rides, great, sounds great, and looks great. what more can you ask for...

I am totally jealous!! I live in Hong Kong now and have ordered the CLS63 AMG. First, I cannot get the matt finish nor the special leather. I ended up buying a black on black. I now have to wait until end of September for the delivery!!

During this long wait, I can only keep coming back to your thread and get an update from you guys. So keep posting as you discover more, knowing that you have a fan in Hong Kong logging in every day.

Have fun with the car. Out here the recommendation for the care period is 1000km (about 600 miles) so I guess the recommendation is just a recommendation.

 

Im in HK a couple times a year, I'll look for the Left Hand Drive black/black you'll definitely like the ECO Mode in HK Traffic!

 

Congrats...well wortht the wait. You can be certain updates will follow. I am curious to what extent the two tone interior is limited..I am lead to believe it may not be offered here either..I guess until the Designo order guide is active we wont know for certain..
One thing for sure...the exhaust note is amazing! I love the sound of this car..

 

Congrats on the ride she is a beauty enjoy in good health ,to my info no CLS63 will be offered in two tones that includes the designo, I tried to order mine in two tones but not possible so I ordered Diamond white with red designo interior.

This is my first AMG. I was a long term BMW fan until I got the E-Coupe. I think MB is coming out with great designs while I am so disappointed with BMW's recent efforts.

BTW, any one know how to disable the speed limiter. It seems like a nuisance.

 

you can let a tech remove it by STAR i think. not sure about the non-AMG cars

I went and saw a cls550 this weekend and I must say.. WOW! I was blown away with how nice it was, such an upgrade from the previous models. I can't wait to see the AMG in person.

I noticed a section on the left side of the front bumper, which has no symmetrical counterpart on the right side. What is it for?

I got this pic from Stewart's uploads. The portion I have in question is circled in red.

 

I am traveling this week but will check when I return home. I believe it would be the tow hook cover but I can't open the pic for some reason on my Ipad...I will confirm ....
