Porsche Cayenne Turbo 2012
CLS 63 AMG 2012 or Cayenne Turbo 2012?

Hi everybody... I have ordered a fully loaded and individually optioned 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo in the beginning of May, and it's due to arrive in mid October.
Before ordering the Cayenne I've considered alot of cars such as the BMW X5 M, but I was passionate about Porsche (especially the Cayenne) so I went for it. Two days ago I went out with a couple of my friends for lunch and i saw the 2012 CLS 63 and i was COMPLETELY AMAZED by it's looks... so I thought about canceling my Cayenne and ordering a fully loaded 2012 individual (Designo) CLS 63 AMG instead.
I know that both cars have the looks, sportiness, and the power. And I also know that the Cayenne Turbo is the best SUV in the market, and that its the best handling SUV because I'm interested in Sporty SUV's, so its a great drivers car.
Another benefit that you get from the Cayenne is that you wouldn't have any problem with going off road... which isn't possible with the CLS 63.
So i'd like to know which car do you guys think is the better option for me because I'm a 20 year old man who's getting dazzled by the looks of the CLS 63 over My passion for the Cayenne Turbo.

Porsche Cayenne Turbo 2012
And why do you think that the CLS is more appropriate for me?

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.
I think the CLS63 is better in every way...at any age.

Why do you think? Obviously he thinks the CLS is a younger person's car (image wise) versus a Cayenne, which is often a soccer-mom mobile.

You're looking at 2 very different vehicles in application and driving characteristics. Asking any of us to tell you which will suit you best is pointless. Only you know the answer to that.

You are posting in the CLS forum.... What answers are you expecting? Almost everyone here will side for the CLS63.... Just like everyone in a Cayenne forum will side for the Cayenne...

These are two totally different vehicles... It's not like you are comparing a ML55 to the Cayenne...

Off-roading in a Cayenne Turbo? Good luck with that!

CLS55
Porsche should only make the 911, im just saying, maybe on road the Cayenne is the best handling and faster, but off road, i would bet a Range Rover, even an LR4, or Jeep Cherokee(trail rated) would out perform the Porsche in that territory. Sorry but the Cayenne just reminds me of a VW Toureg with nicer leather. I dont know how you can compare an SUV to a sports tourer like a CLS, its two different types of cars and two different types of driving. Maybe you need both!

You dont deserve an AMG if you need other people to convince you to buy it

I agree with most of the guys here.
Your comparing apples to oranges, 2 completely different cars.

Your asking AMG owners on an AMG forum which car to get, the answer is obvious.

BTW What kind of work are you in to afford a $100,000+ car at 20 years old? Just curious.

Aww hell, you know mummy and daddy are buying it for him... Why else would he be interested in two totally different vehicles? It's not like he's comparing a CTS-V to an E63 or a CL63 to a Panarema....

A Few
I don't think it's anybody's business where and why OP can afford $100k car. If at 20 he can, good for him!

Get the CLS63, forget the Porsche. Only Porsche's worth getting are the 911 models (C2S, C4S, GTS, TT, GT3, GT2).

Of course it isn't... Doesn't mean someone won't ask or assume something...

Sorry to hear,
Not trying to be a d!ck or anything but you can do ALOT more important things with a $100,000+ dollars especially if its inherited, put it towards a down payment on a house or invest it towards school or a business, your only 20 years old and I really wouldn't recommend blowing it on a expensive car which is only gonna last you a couple of years.
Unless your inheritance is $1,000,000+ then by all means go for it.

IMO you really learn to appreciate something more in life when you have worked for it, not given to you.

Exactly on point.

To the OP,
If you must blow your money, get a CLS. The Cayenne was not meant for offroad use, you will have much more fun with the CLS. However, I would invest that money, grow it some, and then spend some. Do something smart with it. Remember cars depreciate, especially high end cars. Think about it.

Then again, buy the CLS, get black on black, keep in touch with me in about a year and I will buy it from you...lol jk. Not really...
