Results of the Vtech tune on my 2012 CLS 63 WOW!!!
I can't tell you how happy I am with this tune. The car is an entirely different animal. We base lined my car at 516 HP/559 tq bone stock. In fact, I drove the car straight from the dealer and put it on the dyno
The day after getting the base line numbers I had the ECU tuned. I enjoyed the car thru the holiday weekend and brought it back to the dyno today so I could measure the gains. To my surprise it laid down 595 HP to the wheels Torque jumped thru the roof to 643.9
So we are looking at a gain of 80 HP to the wheels and 85 lb ft of torque to the wheels. Freaking amazing!!!
Anyone know how much power loss thru the drive train? I see some tuners saying 17%, but I think that's an inflated number to possibly make their tunes look better? If we figure on a modest 12 % power loss thru the drive train then my dyno numbers would translate into roughly 666 crank HP and 720 lb ft of torque. We all know dyno's can vary so I wouldn't say these are exact numbers, but my base line numbers on the same dyno definitely show the gains.

I forgot to mention... my local track is closed until January 4th, but I will be there on that date, weather providing, to get some numbers on how well it goes down the track

There's no doubt in my mind that it will. I didn't blindly have this tune loaded to my 125k car. We carefully checked air fuel ratios throughout the RPM range and also for any spark retard (detonation). there was none
Despite the power levels, this is a very safe and reliable tune. In fact, it's quite a modest tune. There's plenty of room for more performance if someone was willing to push the limits
From what I'm told this is the same tune sold by other vendors only this one is thousands less.

It feels incredible! This car is already a beast stock, but with the tune it kicks it up to a whole different level. The car is still very civil and drives like stock until you get into the peddle and the thing just roars to life. With traction control on you can definitely feel torque management kicking in to limit wheel spin in the lower speeds. I'll try to get a video of the car accelerating from a dead stop for you guys soon. It's a beast!

Nice over all numbers!!! Nice gains over the curve after certain RPMs.
Not sure why anybody else didnt ask this or everyone is focused on peak numbers but did you notice that that stock tune is stronger in TQ and HP at lower RPM's? The modified tune doesnt start its gain (and its a strong one) until after 3500 rpms.

Well, that's not exactly true. If you look at the chart the base line dyno reading started capturing at 2500 RPM whereas the tuned dyno run started at 3000. This gives the illusion that the stock tune may be stronger than the tuned version in the lower RPM ranges. If you move the Orange lines over to the start of the blue lines you can see the gains in the lower RPM's.

Getting back to your original point about parasitic loss...it all depends on the type of dyno. What type of dyno was it? Were the #'s corrected? Does your car have the performance package? (edit: I see that your sig has the PP) The 515hp baseline is much stronger than any other dyno # I have seen for a stock CLS63...which would lead me to believe that this particular dyno reads higher...and you would apply a much lower parasitic loss % if you were to try to guesstimate crank hp.

Next chance I get I will swing by the shop and have them re pull it on the dyno and this time start capturing at 2500 RPM

Yes, my car did have the PP package to begin with. You can save some money and not get the PP package and just get the Vtech tune and the results would be the same as a PP car with Vtech tune for a whole lot less money

That's certainly the difference. It was actually two different guys operating the dyno on each run. I'm sure they got into the throttle differently
This dyno was a dynocom and numbers were corrected. It's very possible the dyno reads higher. This is why it's impossible to compare one dyno number to another. For this test I was simply wanting to measure the gains from stock VS tuned on the same dyno.
If Ali's number of 9.5% holds true then this dyno is not that far off.
