V1 direct wire installation for 218

Sick of this cord hanging in my face and am wondering if anyone has direct wired a V1 to a 218 yet? Thanks!

Dude that's perfect. I just ordered the new Savvy (if you haven't seen this, check it out) and remote unit for the V1 and the power now comes from the diagnostic port and the Savvy plugs right into it. From there it has two ports, one for the main and one for the remote. It also has a "wheel" to adjust the V1 to not go off at lower speeds.

hahha nice glad you got something that worked out! i've never owned a v1.
i have the escort 9500ix it's a bit different. i'll have to show you at the benz meet. they've recently came out with a bluetooth device that will interact with your smart phone. so you can see everything on a map, change settings etc.. wish i had V1 arrows though

So I ordered it and they sent me an e-mail asking what kind of car I had to make sure that they would be sending the right brackets. When I replied that I had a CLS 63 they told me that these do not work with MB cars and that they would cancel the order.

Very very strong customer service...they could have just sent what I ordered and played dumb....

Hey man I really appreciate that but I figured it out and it looks amazing. I bought a new thing from Valentine called the Savvy. It uses your diagnostic port for juice and has a dial where you set the MPH you want you V1 to start working so you don't get alarms if you under 30 lets say. I also figured out a way to run the wire from the rearview to under the steering wheel without taking anything apart. CHeck it...

I've since moved the detector up and to the left so you see zero wire.

Man I'm having fun....

tat is awesome, because most sales folk would just go for the sale......but I guess this cat saw the headache in the future.......if it was mbparts online or some other retarded vender, then it probably would have been info you learned the day it arrived, and didn't fit, LOL......

glad you got it hooked up......
I'm getting some clear markers today, but still waiting to order another V1

Every once and a while you meet an honest vendor...funny thing is that I just didn't need it.

So I also installed the clear markers but just changed them again to smoked. I think it looks better...look at the thumbnail vs. the signature pic and let me know what you think.

I also am waiting for my stickers for the side mirrors that say....Object in the Mirror are Losing...

I like it smoked vs. color matched on my DW car, contrasts the body color and matches my freefall'd headlights perfectly. Also I like that they're at least somewhat functional, though dim.
